Tory Lanez has been rushed to hospital after being stabbed 14 times in prison, including wounds to his head, back and face.
The 32-year-old rapper, who is currently serving a 10-year sentence for shooting Megan Thee Stallion, was attacked by another inmate at the California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi, north of Los Angeles, prison officials have told press.
As per his social media, his team confirmed that he was stabbed 14 times, including seven back wounds, four in his torso, two in the back of his head and one to the left side of his face.
They also confirmed that he suffered two collapsed lungs and was initially placed on a breathing machine, but is now “talking normally” and in “good spirits,” despite being in pain.
The violent incident unfolded around 7.20am local time, Pedro Calderón Michel, a spokesperson for California’s corrections department confirmed to BBC.
Michel added that staff administered first aid before he was transferred to hospital.

Due to the severity of his condition, he was later airlifted to Kern Medical Hospital.
An investigation has been launched into the stabbing, which TMZ claims involved a makeshift weapon or "prison shank."
Lanez, real name Daystar Peterson, was convicted in 2023 of three felony charges after Megan Thee Stallion was shot in both feet during an altercation in July 2020.
During the trial, the court heard how Lanez had fired a gun at her feet and shouted for her to dance as she walked away from an SUV they had been riding in, following a party at Kylie Jenner’s Hollywood Hills home.
Two of the bullets hit her in the foot, which left her needing to undergo surgery to remove the fragments from them.

Lanez chose to address the court before his sentence was delivered, saying he still considered himself and Megan Thee Stallion “friends”.
The WAP singer gave evidence at the trial but did not appear for the sentencing, with prosecutor Edward Welbourn telling the court that she would be affected by the incident “for the rest of her life” and wished she hadn’t survived the ordeal.
The jury deliberated for one day in August 2023 before convicting Lanez of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, having a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle and discharging a firearm with gross negligence.
