BBC Breakfast presenter Jon Kay voiced his concern for viewers as he issued a live weather warning on Wednesday's (June 18) episode of the popular morning show. Joined by co-host Sally Nugent, the 55-year-old broadcaster was delivering today's top headlines when the topic quickly changed to the upcoming heatwave.
Just moments into the show, the weather segment prompted Jon to express his worries. Ahead of Carol Kirkwood joining the duo for her usual meteorological report, he remarked: "Lovely sunshine there in London. But temperatures are going to rise apparently in the next few days and itâs quite a concern for a lot of people."

Sally, surprised asked: "Is it?" Jon confirmed, "Yes," prompting Sally to quickly realise: "Oh yes because of water levels."

Jon went on to further explain: "Water levels, heat and health problems. I think there is an alert out so Carol can tell us what today is going to be like but also for the next few days."
The camera then cut to Carol, appearing on a large screen in the studio, the Express reports. Backing up Jon's concerns the weatherwoman confirmed: "Jon is quite right, there is a heat alert out at the moment and it covers a lot of England in particular."
Article continues belowOffering more detail she continued: "Itâs a warm start today with most of us starting with double figures. Some of us start with some blue skies but as we go through the next few days temperatures are really going to rise."
Carol added: "So itâs cooler today for example in Scotland but tomorrow you will see temperatures rise and they will continue to rise through the weekend and theyâre going to continue to rise for many but especially for England and for Wales."

Sally had a different approach, as she admitted: "Well I for one am looking forward to that but Iâm not sure Jon is quite so much." Jon joked, replying: "A nation divided."
This news comes following fellow BBC presenter Naga Munchetty's recent update on her ongoing health battle, which has unfortunately "spread."

Speaking on the Second Art podcast to journalist Ateh Jewel, Naga opened up about her experience living with adenomyosis. In this condition, the inner lining of the uterus, which normally thickens over a 28-day cycle and is shed during menstruation, begins to grow into the muscular wall of the uterus.
Naga is one of the approximately one in 10 women who endure this condition. She described the impact: "When it's spread outside the uterus, it goes into the muscle, and so when it grows, it tears the muscle."

Article continues below"It's spread into my upper thighs and my lower back, and so that's when you have (flare-ups). I now take medication to control, suppress the production of my hormones so that these don't flare," she continued.
She revealed that the disorder can lead to "to very heavy periods, intense pain, and that in itself has all consequences, fainting, diarrhoea, passing out, cramps, awful fatigue, all sorts of stuff".
