The Bruce Springsteen biopic is coming out this fall. On Friday, Disney Live Action and 20th Century Studios announced that Deliver Me from Nowhere, starring Jeremy Allen White as The Boss, will premiere in theaters on Oct. 24.
The Scott Cooper-directed film will focus on the making of Nebraska, Springsteenâs 1982 record. Alongside White, Jeremy Strong is set to star as Springsteenâs manager Jon Landeau, Stephen Graham will play Springsteenâs father, Odessa Young will play his love interest Faye, and Paul Walter Hauser will play guitar tech Mike Batlan.
Cooper previously said he aims to have the film âcapture the same spiritâ that Springsteen delivered on Nebraska and share his story with âauthenticity and hope.â
âBeginning production on this film is an incredibly humbling and thrilling journey,â Cooper said in a statement last October. âBruce Springsteenâs Nebraska has profoundly shaped my artistic vision. The albumâs raw, unvarnished portrayal of lifeâs trials and resilience resonates deeply with me.â
When discussing his portrayal of Landeau, Strong told Variety earlier this year, âI donât think Iâve ever encountered a personâs body of work or their legacy in a way that uplifted me more or filled me with a sense of life and hope and love more than Bruce Springsteen.â He added, âJeremy [Allen White]âs work is incredible. Bruce is on set a lot. Weâre all kind of working on it together. Itâs a real collaboration.â
The new premiere date comes seven months after a first-look photo of Allen as Springsteen was shared with the public: the actor is seen wearing a leather jacket and a plaid flannel button-down.
In conversation with Zach Bryan for Rolling Stoneâs Musicians on Musicians, Springsteen shared: âIâve seen the scripts, and Iâve talked to the director. Theyâre just putting it all together, so I donât have an awful lot to say about it, but Iâm excited about it happening ⊠Itâs an interesting story, and the script is really good. I feel good about the whole project.â
