CMAT has shared her new song ‘Take A Sexy Picture Of Me’.

Out now, the single is part of the run-in to her new album, with ‘EURO-COUNTRY’ set to land on August 29th.

A song cycle that looks back to her youth, and the collapse of the Celtic Tiger economy, ‘EURO-COUNTRY’ is funny, personable, and at times NSFW.

New single ‘Take A Sexy Picture Of Me’ is packed with vivacious pop hooks, a space for CMAT to utilise some of the trickery she’s learned during her career.

Proclaimed as “one of the best songs she’s ever written”, the track pushes back against patriarchy, and the all-pervasive eye of the internet. A funny dose of outspoken truth-telling, CMAT says of her new single…

With the internet, every woman is now in the public eye. And no matter who you are, or what you look like, somebody will take umbrage with the fact that you even exist, and there’s no escaping it. ‘Take a Sexy Picture of Me’ was born out of that, because I held back for so long; not out of frustration or sadness for myself, because I AM in the public eye, but I realised it’s actually like this for every woman. It’s all women, all the time. That song is me calling out anyone who criticised my weight or how I looked… and it’s one of the best songs I’ve ever made.
