Chris Brown held in custody after Manchester court appearance
The US singer confirmed his name and gave his address as 'The Lowry Hotel'

Chris Brown has been remanded in custody after appearing in court over an alleged attack more than two years ago.
The 36-year-old singer was arrested in the early hours of Thursday morning (May 15) at the Lowry Hotel, in Salford.

He was charged with grievous bodily harm (GBH) on Thursday night and made his first appearance at Manchester Magistrates' Court this afternoon (Friday).

Brown sat in the dock at courtroom 17 with bleached blond hair, wearing black Nike tracksuit bottoms and a plain black t-shirt.
He spoke to confirm his name and date of birth during a short hearing, in front of a packed public gallery including fans of the singer and members of the press.
When asked by court staff to confirm his current address, Brown said: "The Lowry Hotel."
Article continues belowProsecuting, Hannah Nicholls told the court that on February 19, 2023, Brown is alleged to have attacked Abe Diaw with a bottle at Tape nightclub.
Miss Nicholls said Brown struck Diaw âseveral timesâ before chasing him across the bar then punching and kicking him alongside another person.

The prosecutor added that the circumstances of the offence were 'extremely serious', and the incident was captured on CCTV.
District Judge Joanne Hirst told Brown the offence was 'too serious' to be dealt with at magistrates' court.
Brown was remanded into custody ahead of his next court appearance at Southwark Crown Court, in London, on June 13.

The signer was in the UK ahead of performing 10 dates in his Breezy Bowl XX European tour, including three dates at Co-op Live next month.
