Cunha could grab dream Man Utd shirt number if he signs
The latest Manchester United transfer news following an update on Matheus Cunha's situation.
Manchester United target Matheus Cunha could grab his dream shirt number at Old Trafford amid fresh reports that he's "close to agreeing terms" with the club. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Brazil forward is now on the verge of becoming the third signing of Ruben Amorim's tenure.
The Manchester Evening News reported last week that the club are confident of bolstering their frontline without a need for sales, which has often been the case for their Premier League rivals - owing to Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSRs). Furthermore, Cunha, 25, was previously optimistic of joining United with fresh reports suggesting that his move could be edging closer to completion.

United are in action on Wednesday night when they take on Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final and know that a win will secure their place in next season's Champions League.
â
Cunha could mark the first piece of the puzzle to strengthen Amorim's options, in order to power up the division and re-establish the club back among the Premier League and European elite.
It has been a sensational season for the 25-year-old as he - arguably - single-handedly kept Wolves in the Premier League as they battled against the drop.
He has netted 15 goals in 31 appearances in the top-flight, contributing six assists.

Should he sign along the dotted line, there will be a clamour for supporters to get the new signing on the back of their new shirt for the upcoming campaign.
The question will remain over what number the Brazil international will demand, after having a mix of squad shirts throughout his career.
He occupied the No.20 with RB Leipzig before moving to Hertha, where he held No.26 until switching up to No.10 - with a one-season stint as their No.9, as well.
â
During his two-year stint with Atletico Madrid, he moved from No.19 to No.9 in his final season when he moved to the Premier League to join Wolves.
He held No.12 for three seasons before enjoying his best season wearing No.10.
And that number could become available at United with Marcus Rashford's future unclear.
â
The England international has had a superb spell with Aston Villa and he's fired his way back into the shop window with speculation surrounding his future. Last week, The Manchester Evening News reported that United expect the 27-year-old to move abroad this summer and have no intention of reintegrating him into their squad.
His services are available for ÂŁ40million, but Villa do not have first refusal on the England international.
United are expecting Rashford to return for pre-season, but sources close to the player also insist that he's not prepared to take a wage cut on his ÂŁ325,000-a-week salary, which would restrict him to a handful of potential suitors this summer.
