Danny Dyer's expletive-laden Baftas speech as he prepares for next career move
Danny Dyer was the first winner of the night at the Bafta TV Awards 2025, taking home the award for Best Male Performance for his Sky Comedy show Mr Bigstuff
Danny Dyer was caught up in all the feels as he nabbed a shiny Bafta on Sunday, May 11, and true to his tough on-screen image, he just couldn't help but drop an F-bomb or two during his speech.
Host Alan Cumming was on the ball, though, apologising swiftly to viewers for Danny's spicy language live on air.
The former Walford favourite earned himself the Best Male Performance award for his role in the Sky Comedy series Mr Bigstuff. As he scooped up his prize, the cheeky chap admitted: "The acting was so bad it was funny."
Yet he still managed to set jaws dropping as he went full-on Danny mode offering up numerous swears, despite being given the heads-up about Bafta's no-no list beforehand.
Swear words aside, Danny truly tugged at our heartstrings when he owned up to being "choked up" mid-speech and gave a nod to his two girls while standing proud at London's Royal Festival Hall, reports Belfast Live.

We're diving right into that speech with all that wasn't aired on TV, the unfiltered acceptance chat that saw a lot of the broadcast cut out due to some choice of words.
Starting off, the 47-year-old kicked things off with: "I want to thank Sky for giving our show a shot. F***ing hell, I'm choked up". Danny was well keen to give props to script master Ryan Sampson.
Heaping on the thanks, Danny said: "He's one of the greatest people ever to come out of Rotherham - not saying much. You won this for me mate."
Danny couldn't help but praise Ryan once again, saying with heartfelt emotion: "One of the best actors this country's ever produced, I'm telling you. Never done the same thing twice. Which is not something I can say.
"He wrote this part for me, so you know... I'm getting choked up again, f*** me. So you won this for me, mate, I really appreciate it. Thank you so much."
The beloved Rivals actor also took a moment to shout out to his daughters, Dani, 28, and Sunnie, 18, who were in the audience, proud of their dad: "Girls, Sunnie and Dani... I've done it, girls, I've f***ing done it."
After Danny's passionate speech, Alan Cumming quickly stepped up to apologise to everyone for the "naughty language" used.
EastEnders swipe
Danny took aim at EastEnders backstage
In a candid backstage moment post-award ceremony, still buzzing from his win, Danny spoke with Metro and cheekily referred to his past EastEnders role, hinting at some internal satisfaction at his victory: "Oh, there'll be some people fuming!" He added confidently: "I don't know, man. I've earned it. I only want one, I don't need more than this. I'm happy."
Danny reflected back on his soap career with a playful dig at his past on EastEnders, noting how he's had his fair share of wins: "I've lifted a couple of NTAs over the years, and I always like to win awards and lose them, do the moody clap [pretending] that you're happy for someone else... I've done all that b******s, and I thought I'd be doing that tonight."
Reflecting on his recent triumphs with both 'Mr Bigstuff' and 'Rivals', he shared: "I've had a really good run this year. Rivals has been so well received. A bit odd, really. I've got Rivals sitting there, and I've got Mr Bigstuff there."
So what's next for Danny?
Danny is moving on to great things in the coming months
Danny's fans are buzzing with anticipation for the award-winning return of Mr Bigstuff as he once again takes the spotlight in the Sky Comedy series, which is gearing up for its second season.
Details about the release date for series two on Sky and Now are still under wraps, but the channel has teased that the launch will be "later in 2025", with Danny set to make a comeback as the boisterous brother Lee.
Disney + Rivals fans are also ecstatic to hear that Danny will be stepping back into the shoes of businessman Freddie Jones, a role that snagged him the British Press Guild Award for Best Actor and the RTS Television Award for Supporting Actor.
As for the exact timing of Rivals series two, predictions vary between "later in 2025" and "early 2026". Yet, an expert appearing on ITV's 'Lorraine' hinted that her sources have pointed to as soon as "July 2025".
Chatting with stand-in host Andi Peters on ITV's 'Lorraine' on Monday, May 12, Ria Hebden let slip: "Rivals, we now know it'll be back on screens this July."
Rivals will return to Disney + soon and Mr Bigstuff will return to Sky and Now later in 2025
