Demi Moore's Maximalist Met Gala Look Is a Masterclass in Red Carpet Dressing

Demi Moore once again gave a masterclass in red carpet dressing when she arrived at the Met Gala 2025 in an avant-garde black and white gown designed by Thom Browne.

Moore paid homage to this year's theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” which celebrates Black men's tailoring and style from the 18th century to the present day, in her striking ensemble—which featured a circular headpiece that gave an almost halo effect (appropriate because this year, Moore has been able to do no wrong). She completed her look with sparkling long earrings, matching bangles, a hairstyle pulled back in a neat bun and smoky eye makeup.

This year has been especially significant for Moore, who starred in the acclaimed film The Substance—a performance that earned her a Golden Globe for Best Actress (her speech that night deserved an award of its own), a SAG award, and of course her Oscar nomination—which even though she didn't win, didn't take away from her impact.

And her appearance at the Met Gala 2025 adds to a string of memorable red carpet moments, not just this year at various awards ceremonies, but over the years on the Met Gala's storied (not always red) carpet. In 2024, Moore stunned in a Harris Reed gown made from vintage wallpaper, adorned with hand-painted organza peonies, and accessorized with jewelry from Cartier's Nature Sauvage collection.

But the actor confessed that it's only recently that she's grown far more at ease with herself. In an interview with People, she admitted, “I did torture myself. Crazy things like biking from Malibu all the way to Paramount, which is about 26 miles. All because I placed so much value on what my outsides looked like. I think the biggest difference today is it’s so much more about my overall health and longevity and quality of life. I think I’ve evolved into greater gentility toward myself."
