Eurovision viewers forced to 'switch off' as BBC fans issue complaint
The Eurovision Song Contest grand final attracted two million more TV viewers than the FA Cup Final, the BBC has said.
A peak of audience of 7.9 million tuned in to see Remember Monday attempt to win the competition for the UK. Eurovision was temporarily interrupted with a short interval during Saturday night's final in Basel, Switzerland as the jury counted the votes before announcing this year's winner.
But several BBC fans admitted they "switched off" minutes before the results. There were several performances during the final while votes were being cast and counted. Last year's winner Nemo performed one of their new tracks, Unexplainable. Also, Croatia's Baby Lasagna, who performed Rim Tim Tagi Dim at last yearâs competition in Sweden, and Kaarija who represented Finland in the Eurovision in 2023 with Cha Cha Cha.

But UK supporters admitted they decided to turn off beforehand as they feared Remember Monday's outcome.
One wrote: "Time to switch off #eurovision."
A second penned: "I love #Eurovision but I need to switch off when the voting starts."
A third shared: "Lesson for tonight is after listen to all the songs and a bit of the show, make sure to switch off and stop watching #Eurovision when they start announcing scores. Save yourself from heartache or nervous breakdown."
A fourth commented: "No point watching the rest."
The UK's entry Remember Monday have since broken their silence after suffering a humiliating blow.
Despite managing to secure a respectable 19th place with 88 points from the jury, the girl band was left heartbroken after getting zero points from viewers during the grand finale on Saturday night.
In a statement shared on Sunday, they said: "WOW - what a ride! Three best mates walked onto the world's biggest music stage and came out with a Top 10 Jury score, massive streaming numbers, and memories that will last a lifetime.
"Performing at Eurovision was one of the most surreal and emotional moments of our lives. The love we've felt from fans, our incredible team, and everyone who streamed, voted, and believed in us has been overwhelming."
They announced: "This is just the beginning for Remember Monday. We've got new music coming your way, a UK and Ireland headline tour this year, a summer packed with festivals, and we'll be hitting the stage at Wembley Stadium for the Summertime Ball... no big deal!"
