In June 2020, the celebrity chef shared a photo of Javier helping her with work while they quarantined in their New York home amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Javierâs importance in Burrellâs life became even more evident when he played a special role in her wedding. He served as his fatherâs best man and even delivered a heartfelt speech during the reception.
In November 2021, Javier spent Thanksgiving with Burrell and the family. At the time, the Food Network star expressed gratitude for all the great things happening in her life.
âJust SOOOOOOO much to be thankful for this year!â she wrote. âA new home, a wedding, a stepson, great family, great friends, good health, great fans and just so much more!!! I wish everyone a VERY happy Thanksgiving!!! Lots of love to all!â
Burrell also enjoyed going on trips with Javier. In April 2023, the Claxtons vacationed at Walt Disney World. More recently, in June 2024, Burrell, along with her husband and stepson, watched a Cricket World Cup held in the US and the West Indies.

Burrellâs unexpected passing shocked her fans, prompting an outpouring of tributes on social media celebrating her life and legacy.
One fan commented in disbelief, âThis canât be true. Chef Anne you were vivacious, hilarious, full of life and reminded me of my Mom. Iâm so so sorry. Rest with the Angels in Heaven and cook up a storm for us.â
Another wrote, âIâll always tuck my finger in when using a knife because if you! Fly high Anne. Thereâs a new star shining bright tonight.â
A fan added, âA life lost too soon, but what a life. You touched so many and will be missed dearly.â
Burrell passed away on the morning of June 17, at her home in New York. According to TMZ, a representative for the New York City Fire Department confirmed that the 911 caller reported the chef had gone into cardiac arrest.
