Ju Haknyeon has shared a handwritten apology in which he firmly denied the reports of his engaging in prostitution.
On June 18, THE BOYZ’s agency ONE HUNDRED announced that Ju Haknyeon would be leaving both the group and the company due to “issues involving Ju Haknyeon’s personal life” that made it “no longer possible for us to maintain trust in him as an artist.”
Although the agency did not elaborate on the issues in question, News1 reported earlier in the day that they had obtained a letter of inquiry sent from the Japanese media outlet Shukan Bunshun to ONE HUNDRED about Ju Haknyeon meeting up privately with former Japanese AV actress Asuka Kirara in May.
Following the news of his departure from THE BOYZ, 10Asia reported later in the day that according to multiple industry sources, Ju Haknyeon had paid for sex with Asuka Kirara. The report also quoted a source as saying, “Not only Ju Haknyeon but also a producer from ONE HUNDRED is said to have been removed from his duties due to the issue of prostitution.”
Later that same night, Ju Haknyeon posted a handwritten letter on Instagram Stories in which he denied having engaged in prostitution or any other illegal activity.
Ju Haknyeon’s full letter is as follows:
Hello. This is Ju Haknyeon.
First, I apologize to the fans who must have been greatly shocked by the news about me, as well as everyone whom I gave cause for concern through this unsavory matter.
In the wee hours of the morning of May 30, 2025, I attended a private gathering with alcohol together with an acquaintance, and while it is true that I was at that gathering, it is completely false that I engaged in any illegal activity, such as the prostitution that is being mentioned in news reports and rumors. I am deeply reflecting on my actions, and I would like to sincerely apologize to everyone who was shocked by this [matter].
