Justin Bieber and Sean âDiddyâ Combs share a complex history that intertwines mentorship, collaboration, and recent controversy. Their connection began in 2009 when a teenage Bieber and Combs caught viral attention with the video, âJustin Bieberâs 48 Hours with Diddy!!â Over the years, their bond deepened, with Bieber featuring on Combsâ 2023 album The Love Album: Off The Grid and attending various events together. Given this, the media wondered whether Bieber would get dragged into Combsâ legal troubles. Hereâs what the pop starâs representative just explained.
Justin Bieber and Sean âDiddyâ Combs appeared to spend ample time together at the start of Bieberâs career. Unfortunately, now, Bieber has seemingly distanced himself from the hip-hop mogul. Combsâ trial for sex trafficking and racketeering charges began in May 2025. Bieber has not publicly commented on the trial. However, many fans suspect that the charges are mentally weighing on him.
After the start of Combsâ trial, Bieberâs representatives clarified that Bieber is not among Combsâ alleged victims.
âAlthough Justin is not among Sean Combsâ victims, there are individuals who were genuinely harmed by him,â Bieberâs representative told Page Six. âShifting focus away from this reality detracts from the justice these victims rightfully deserve.â
Currently, Bieber is prioritizing his family life with wife Hailey and their son Jack. He seeks to maintain a positive and supportive environment away from the media storm surrounding Combs.
The viral â48 hours with Diddyâ video doesnât depict actual events, according to Sean âDiddyâ Combsâ ex-bodyguard
In 2009, Justin Bieber and Sean âDiddyâ Combs made headlines with a playful and now-infamous video titled â48 Hours with Diddy!!â The video followed Bieber as he spent two days shadowing Combs. The footage showed Combs promising Bieber the lifestyle of a star, including flashy cars, studio time, and access to celebrity circles.
âYou ever see the movie 48 Hours? Right now, heâs having 48 hours with Diddy. Him and his boy, theyâre having the times of their lives,â Combs tells the camera with Bieber by his side.
According to Combsâ former bodyguard, Bieber didnât actually spend 48 hours with Combs at the time. âIt was just one of those phone calls, basically: âIâm in town, bring Justin by. I want you to highlight him for a little while,ââ the guard explained, according to an interview clip posted to Reddit. âAnd he just hollered at him. They ainât stay together for 48 hours and all that. He was just talking s*** right there. He stayed there for about an hour, two.â
Justin Bieber likely will not speak out about Sean âDiddyâ Combsâ trial. An insider said that while Bieber might open up to those close to him regarding his experiences with Combs, he doesnât want to âreliveâ the past.
âHearing all of the horrific stories, fans are looking at his associations with other stars in a whole new light,â a source told In Touch Weekly. âThe last thing Justin wants to do is relive or even discuss his complicated friendship with Diddy.â
Combsâ trial, which began on May 5, 2025, will likely conclude after two months.
