Kylie and Kendall Jenner brought their signature contrasts to the 2025 Met Gala carpet, each interpreting the “Tailored for You” theme in strikingly different ways. Kylie embraced bold structure with a sculptural, custom ensemble that fused contemporary tailoring with dramatic flair, exuding confidence and ease. Kendall, on the other hand, opted for a more minimalist take on the theme, wearing a sleek, monochrome look that balanced sophistication with restraint. Oddly enough, one of the Jenner sisters looked right at home, while the other appeared anxious. Here’s what a body language expert noticed.
Kendall Jenner’s body language at the 2025 Met Gala ‘suggested anxiety,’ according to an expertKendall Jenner arrived at the 2025 Met Gala in a sleek, sharply tailored ensemble that echoed the night’s theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.” She wore a minimalist look — a structured black column gown with crisp detailing — which earned nods for its refinement. The Torishéju Dumi look, which included a plunging neckline and a floor-length skirt instead of trousers, was inspired by women of the 1920s Harlem Renaissance.
“This look is deeply personal to me, as it expresses the versatility of Black Dandyism and tailoring and what it means to a black British woman,” Dumi shared, according to People. “It challenges preconceived notions of how one should dress or design based on their gender, race, or background.”
Unfortunately, while Jenner looked stunning, celebrity body language expert Inbaal Honigman via Casino.ca noticed Kendall’s “tense” energy.
“With her fingers tensed into fists, and her lips tight, Kendall cuts a lonely figure,” Honigman explained. “As she poses, her moves are quick and businesslike, and her expression neutral, barely smiling at all. Her lips remain tense, showing that she’s not having the best time. Her tight hands, curled into little fists, suggest anxiety.”

She stepped out in a Ferragamo dress that came complete with a sheer bodice and long tweed skirt with a waist-high slit. She wore the elegant look well, as she appeared confident and happy.
Celebrity body language expert Inbaal Honigman noticed Kylie’s renewed confidence, even without boyfriend Timothée Chalamet by her side.
“The youngest Jenner sister walks the blue carpet like she owns it,” Honigman noticed, via Casino.ca. “This is a lady totally comfortable in her own skin, comfortable with her life choices, and happy to champion herself.
“Her confidence begins with her strong leg stance,” the expert continued. “Slightly parted and standing so straight that her knees are locking, Kylie’s legs say that she feels secure, confident, and totally at home at the Met Gala. Her arm gestures are large, bold, and flowy, as she feels happy being fully herself.”
“The beauty mogul’s facial expression is that of sheer happiness, her smile is open and inviting, with her teeth exposed, and her eyes looking directly ahead.
“There’s an enthusiasm to her body language that indicates her delight, and apparent surprise, that she gets to do this at all,” Honigman concluded.
Kendall and Kylie Jenner are more than capable of attending a star-studded event without a man by their side. However, fans hoped to see Timothée Chalamet arrive at the Met Gala with Kylie.
According to Page Six, Chalamet skipped the event to watch the New York Knicks game from home. Several sources have said in the past that Chalamet doesn’t want his relationship with Kylie to overshadow his serious work as an actor. Perhaps he considered walking the Met Gala carpet to potentially hurt his image. Chalamet did not outright say why he decided to skip the Met.
Given how Chalamet brought Jenner to the Golden Globes and Oscars in 2025, we hope to see them together at a huge event again soon.
