Lindsay Hubbard Reveals Why She Really Skipped Carl Radke's Bar Event on 'Summer House'
The “Summer House” star had a lengthy response to her ex’s on-camera remarks.
Lindsay Hubbard reacted to a conversation that her ex, Carl Radke, had while filming “Summer House” last August.
On May 7, the Bravo TV veteran posted to her Instagram story to call out Radke for saying she was still holding onto embarrassment over their breakup nearly one year after he ended their engagement on camera. Hubbard also explained why she didn’t attend the soft launch event for Radke’s Soft Bar + Café —and Radke issued a response.
Hubbard and Radke split in August 2023, just three months before their scheduled destination wedding in Mexico. The former PR professional moved on with her new boyfriend, Turner Kufe, and gave birth to his child in December 2024.

On May 7, Hubbard responded to a clip of the “Summer House” season 9 scene posted by the @facereality16 Instagram account. In the clip, Radke was talking to co-stars Kyle Cooke and Jesse Solomon about his upcoming non-alcoholic bar business and Hubbard’s lack of support. “Cannot wait for Lindsay’s response to this at the reunion,” the clip was captioned.
Hubbard posted, “I did not see this convo until last night and therefore I wasn’t able to address it at the reunion, but here’s what I will say …
“1). what are we in middle school? Embarrassed is not the word here. This man my best friend of eight years/fiancé/partner blindsided me and publicly humiliated me on national television with less respect than you would have for your enemy. Why on earth would I need to go to is soft launch for his bar that wasn’t even opening yet? Which brings me to #2
2). I didn’t attend said launch not because I was embarrassed, but good try. I didn’t attend because why would I go 3 hours deep into New Jersey in the middle of rush hour traffic on a summer Thursday for a bar that—at the time—didn’t even have a location locked in? And that you’re talking about opening in Brooklyn (the complete opposite direction). Call me when it’s actually launching. But I’m not going to waste 8 hours of my life to go celebrate him talking about potentially doing something at some point, maybe in the future. Call me when it’s opening
3). After watching this season back, I don’t think I’m the one throwing “jabs” at his concept… pretty sure a lot of people had a lot of opinions on this endeavor, and it wasn’t me.”
Of Radke, she also noted, “This man has me all wrong. But then again this is the guy who said I was obsessed with him over summer.”
Radke responded to Hubbard’s post via an Instagram comment. “This had nothing to do with her coming to NJ or the Soft Bar event. Zero. I was asked a question by Kyle about why she’s making jabs all summer and I responded with an opinion in the moment and I regret even saying anything about her cause here we are with the post-episode story rant and bullet points about something that hasn’t nothing to do with that conversation,” he wrote.
Hubbard fired back at Radke’s comment, writing, “Hey Carl… If all you’re getting from me are ‘jabs,’ after the insane disrespect & gaslighting you showed me the season before, you should be thanking your lucky stars. Seems like someone is a little soft.. I owe you literally nothing. I shared a space with you all summer, we are not friends, nor will we ever be.”

When Hubbard and Radke were still together, she shot down his idea to open a sober bar, noting that he shouldn’t be tied to a brick-and-mortar business. Once they split up, he came up with the idea of Soft Bar.
In the “Summer House” season 9 episode “Changing Tides,” Radke told Cooke and Solomon that he was “about to sign” a $10,000 per month, seven-year lease for Soft Bar. He noted that if things didn’t work out, there was a “good guy clause” in which he could have someone take over the lease.
“Or… if we have to file for bankruptcy, there’s still some flexibility,” he said.
“We have a good business model,” Radke added. “I mean, listen, it’s risky, I know that, but I’m just so passionate about this. I’m doing it.”
Cooke noted that there were “naysayers” and “people taking jabs.” “I feel like every now and then Lindsay will throw a jab,” Cooke said. “How’s it been handling that? Obviously, she’s not, like, jumping up and down for Soft Bar.”
A flashback showed Hubbard telling co-star Paige DeSorbo and Ciara Miller that she had “a prior engagement” to “watch paint dry” on the night of Radke’s event.
Radke admitted that he “didn’t expect” his ex to support him. “If you really want my honest opinion, she’s still, really deep down, she’s not hurt, she’s just embarrassed,” he said. “And deep down there’s just a part of her with all the jabs and comments, it’s her trying to feel better about the embarrassment she’s feeling.”
The group agreed that “obviously” an expectant Hubbard had moved on but still had residual feelings about the breakup.
Radke’s Soft Bar + Café is described as “Brooklyn’s first non-alc bar + cafe for mindful consumption.” It will open summer 2025, per the official Instagram page for the business.
