Kyle Ashman's stint on Love Island has been abruptly cut short.
Just days before the 2025 series is set to kick off on Monday (June 9), it emerged that Kyle was sent packing from Majorca.
The Sun has disclosed that Kyle found himself in hot water, having been arrested over suspicions of being linked to a machete assault.
He was one of two people brought in for questioning but was later released without charge.
The attack in question left the victim in need of urgent medical care, with injuries so severe they nearly lost an arm and had to spend a fortnight in hospital, reports Wales Online.
Nevertheless, there's no suggestion that Kyle was involved in the violent incident. After looking into the matter, police have confirmed to OK! magazine that both individuals have been let go without any further action.
Article continues belowAn ITV representative has confirmed his exit from the reality show, commenting: "For personal reasons, Kyle will not be entering the Love Island Villa as planned."
Kyle himself has spoken out about the ordeal, stating: "I fully cooperated with this police investigation and made it very clear that I had no involvement in this incident. I am not a violent person and any suggestion otherwise is a mischaracterisation."
The 23-year-old water engineer from Stafford had told ITV he was hoping to meet "someone that's fun, confident and just themselves" during his time on Love Island.
Speaking about his flirting tactics and whether host Maya Jama would give them the thumbs up, Kyle confidently stated: "Id say I'd be hired. I just go with it, find something to compliment a girl on and go from there."
Today (Tuesday, June 3), the cast for the 2025 season was unveiled, introducing a new group of hopeful singles ready to seek out love this summer.
Among them is personal trainer and semi-professional footballer Dejon Noel-Williams, 26, from London, who's embarking on a quest for love in the villa and has previously rubbed shoulders with none other than David Beckham.
His brush with fame comes courtesy of his father, ex-footballer Gifton Noel-Williams, which has led to encounters with celebrities like football superstar Beckham, whom he remembers as "really nice."
