Love Island 2025 star begs for challenge which left Molly-Mae in tears to return
Love Island 2025 is almost upon us and cast member Shakira Khan says it's time for the Twitter challenge to return six years after it left Molly-Mae Hague fuming
Love Island 2025 contestant Shakira Khan has called for the return of one of the show's most controversial challenges ever.
The 22-year-old Burnley beauty will make her villa debut when the hit ITV2 dating programme returns on Monday (June 9) night for its twelfth series.
Over the past decade, the villa has been the home for many twists and turns and Shakira has revealed which former fan favourite game she'd like to return this year.
She told press: "I'm definitely excited about the twists and turns. Something I'd really like to come back is the Twitter Challenge, I think that was so funny.

"It always caused a bit of drama and I want to know what everyone's doing behind each others backs. Bring that back"
The infamous Twitter Challenge saw Islanders read out tweets about themselves posted by members of the public during their time in the villa.
The group are then asked to match the star to the tweet in question and it often caused chaos between the cast.

Designed to ruffle some feathers in the villa, the challenge brought some islanders to tears including ex-contestant Molly-Mae Hague who was left fuming after she was labelled âMoney-Maeâ in a Twitter post read out on the show.
ITV bosses haven't included the controversial game since 2019 but Shakira thinks it's time to bring it back.
She added: "I think honesty is more important and if I've got something to say to someone it's definitely to their face.

"I don't think everyone is that way so it would be good for me to see who's having a bit of a chinwag about me behind my back and I'll call them out on it."
The challenge isnât the first to be scrapped from the show as the lie detector task was scrapped for the 2019 series over concerns raised over the fib-spotting machines.
At the time, TV watchdog Ofcom has revealed how there are âalarm bellsâ over Love Island, which featured a lie detector test on the contestants on every series to question whether the participants are being truthful to and about their partners.
Love Island returns Monday, June 9 at 9pm to ITV2 and ITVX
