Man United's next four transfers decided following £92.5m Cunha and Delap deals
Manchester United transfer news as Ruben Amorim prepares for a huge transfer window
Manchester United have been one of the most active Premier League clubs in the transfer market despite the window not opening until next month.
Jason Wilcox and Omar Berrada are wasting no time in recruiting players after an abysmal 2024/25 season. United have endured a miserable Premier League campaign, recording their worst-ever position and lowest-ever points tally.
The appointment of Ruben Amorim in November, following the dismissal of Erik ten Hag, means United have a clear idea on what they need to do in the market. A quick look at the Premier League table and it's clear where the problem lies.
Ignoring the three relegation teams, only Everton have scored fewer goals (41) than United's 42 this season. Tottenham, who sit below United in 17th, have scored over 20 more goals than them.
The Manchester Evening News understands that two attacking signings are being targeted by United's hierarchy. Matheus Cunha is set to become their first signing of the summer with the Wolves star "optimistic" about joining the club when his £62.5million release clause is triggered.
Cunha has been a player on United's radar since the start of the season and getting the deal wrapped up so early is a positive sign of things to come. But their business is far from complete.
According to The Athletic, Liam Delap has held face-to-face talks with United over a move to Old Trafford. The striker has a £30million release clause in his contract at Ipswich Town with various reports suggesting he is their number one target to bolster their centre-forward options.

Viktor Gyokeres continues to be heavily tipped to reunite with Amorim after impressing at Sporting CP. However, Arsenal are strong favourites to land the Sweden international when the season finishes in England and Portugal.
The arrival of a new centre-forward seems contingent on the future of Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee. Hojlund, a £72m investment in 2023, doesn't appear to be attracting as much interest as Zirkzee, who has been linked to return to Italy.
The Manchester Evening News understands that any other recruits following the two attacking signings are likely to be financed by player sales. Antony, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia are all said to be up for sale with their departures all allowing further signings - meaning they could well be United's next transfers following the arrivals of Cunha and Delap.
Alejandro Garnacho, Bruno Fernandes and Andre Onana have all also been linked with moves away in the past few months. However, Garnacho seems the most likely to depart after being close to a move in January.
In terms of incomings, a host of names continue to be linked with a move to United. Reports from France have insisted that Rayan Cherki is now of interest to United with the 21-year-old having an agreement with Lyon to leave for â¬22.5m (£18.9m) - presenting another bargain transfer.
On a bigger scale, Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo continues to be mentioned as another attacking target. However, reports suggest that the Cameroon international will cost around £60m. Elsewhere, new links to Emiliano Martinez, Pedro Goncalves and Theo Hernandez have all emerged with other positions away from the forward line expected to be prioritised after Cunha and Delap are signed.
