In a shocking twist, Billie Piper is seemingly poised to succeed Ncuti Gatwa by stepping into the iconic role of Doctor Who.
Ncuti Gatwa's Doctor Who exit left fans in tears as Billie Piper made a shock return to the show. The surprise turn of events left millions of viewers stunned as they watched Ncuti Gatwa's Doctor bid farewell to the show in Saturday's season finale. During the two-part final, the Doctor faced off against the nefarious Rani in an epic battle to salvage humanity. However, after making a heart-wrenching decision to save the life of a young girl, his time as the Doctor came to an end. In a major twist, the Doctor underwent regeneration, and Billie Piper's character materialized—seemingly hinting that she is next in line for the coveted role.
If she is to step into the position, she will make history as the second female Time Lord, following Jodie Whittaker's portrayal of the 13th Doctor. Billie, 42, is no stranger to the Whoniverse. In 2005, she portrayed Rose Tyler, the loyal companion to Christopher Eccleston's Ninth Doctor.
