The 2025 Met Gala, themed “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” has come and gone, and we have a lot to say. Some stars came in some of the best looks we’ve ever seen on the Met Gala steps (cough cough, Colman Domingo and Mona Patel), and others were, erm, not up to par. With the dress code being “Tailored for You,” we expected a bunch of hidden details in looks, and boy, did we get all the Easter eggs.

If you’ve been on X, the app formerly known as Twitter, then chances are you saw some of the unhinged details in some Met Gala looks like singer Lisa’s Rosa Parks panties and Janelle Monae’s Tequila ring. Whether you love it or hate it, it’s got everyone talking. So after playing detective, we’ve seen some rather out-there details, and we think we know what it’s linked to.

Lisa’s Rosa Parks Panties

So… um…singer Lisa’s Louis Vuitton ensemble had a detail social media can’t get over: black lace panties with Rosa Parks’ face on it. Not only that, there were multiple important Black figures in history made in the lace. 

A$AP Rocky’s Gun Cane

Co-chair A$AP Rocky had an Easter egg that social media users immediately found: a gun holster atop his cane. Now, this comes after he was found not guilty for a potential assault with a deadly weapon in a shooting that took place back in Nov 2021.

Janelle Monae’s two-part look had a lil detail fans may have missed: a 5.5-carat emerald-cut stone made out of actual liquid 1800 Cristalino tequila.
