Tommy Fury's promise to brother Tyson and Soccer Aid opponent before cameo
Tommy Fury took a break from boxing last year to take part in Soccer Aid but he did not cover himself in glory during his second-half cameo for the World XI
Tommy Fury humorously threatened to "break the legs" of boxing promoter Eddie Hearn in the lead-up to last year's Soccer Aid charity match.
The undefeated professional boxer traded his gloves for football boots last year, representing the Rest of the World XI in the charity football match at Chelsea's Stamford Bridge. Despite his claims of rigorous preparation for the game, his performance fell short of expectations.
‌
Fury, 26, appeared out of his depth on the pitch, with a series of mishaps marring his second-half appearance. In one particularly memorable moment, 'TNT' completely missed the ball while attempting a powerful kick upfield.
‌
His performance didn't improve much from there. The most cringe-worthy moment came when he executed an underarm throw-in, causing World XI coaches Mauricio Pochettino and Robbie Keane to dissolve into laughter in the dugout.
On the opposing team was boxing promoter Hearn, who played as a target man during his time on the pitch. Prior to the match, Fury had pledged to slide tackle the 46-year-old, reports the Mirror.
"If I see him (Hearn), I am going to slide tackle him. I will put putting him out of business... he will be making no more big deals for a while."

He later shared: "Training's been going amazingly, the World team is in great form and in good spirits. There's always nerves and anxiety but I think we've got another win in the bag. I'll probably slide tackle Eddie Hearn for Tyson! If I get a goal I'll be doing a celebration for Bambi. Molly will be there cheering me on but Bambi will be cheering for me in her dreams as her bedtime is 6:45pm.
"The game will be really different to my boxing where all the pressure is on me to win, I've come to training and had a great time in the team. Everyone's here having fun and it's for a great cause, it's probably my favourite four days of the year."
Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported on the pitch. Fury may have become a meme following his Soccer Aid performance, but at least it was all in aid of a worthy cause.
‌
The event managed to raise over £15m for the Children's Investment Fund Foundation UNICEF. While 'TNT' won't be making an appearance this year, his older brother Tyson will be.
The former two-time heavyweight world champion is set to co-manage the England team alongside ex-Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney.
"ENGLAND MANAGER! Who would ever have thought it! ? I have had some big fights in my career and the prospect of leading my England team to victory this June fills me with just as much excitement as any heavyweight fight," Fury expressed.

"Everyone knows that I am a huge Manchester United fan too, so it's even more special for me that the game is at Old Trafford this year – and I get to manage one of my heroes, Wayne Rooney! How can we lose! ? The work UNICEF does all around the world is so special and so important. I really hope that you can come along and support us this summer."
The upcoming Soccer Aid event is set to unfold on Sunday evening at the iconic Old Trafford, with England aiming to hold onto their title. The crowd will be treated to performances from beloved figures such as Jill Scott, Tom Grennan, and Sir Mo Farah, alongside fresh faces like Fury, Joe Hart, Steph Houghton, and ex-Italy star Leonardo Bonucci.
