5 England wildcards Thomas Tuchel can call up to combat Club World Cup chaos
England boss Thomas Tuchel has seen his preparations for England’s upcoming summer fixtures hugely hampered by the Club World Cup but there could be some surprise options available
England face a rare summer away from an international tournament this summer - but Three Lions boss Thomas Tuchel is still determined to make the most of the incoming break. England are set to take on Andorra and Senegal in qualifying games for next year’s World Cup.
While a host of the usual names are expected to earn places in Tuchel’s upcoming squad, his choices might be limited due to the Club World Cup. The competition gets underway on June 15 - just five days after England’s clash with Senegal.
Players are expected to arrive at the Club World Cup three days before their team’s respective opener, meaning there is going to be a very tight turnaround. England captain Harry Kane will be among those expected to attend, while players from Manchester City, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid also have commitments at the tournament.
As per the BBC, Tuchel is not considering breaking up his squad, with many of the bigger names expected to feature. But should he change his mind, he could choose to select a few surprise names.
Take a look at some wildcards that could be named in Tuchel’s upcoming squad:

And one standout option could potentially be Arsenal wonderkid.
Article continues belowNwaneri, 18, has enjoyed a standout breakout season with nine goals in all competitions for the Gunners. The youngster has already made two appearances for England’s under-21 side so this summer might end up being the perfect time to give him a senior opportunity.
Who should be included in Thomas Tuchel's next England squad? Share your thoughts in the comments below
On the topic of wideman, Borussia Dortmund star Jamie Gittens has been making waves over in Germany so could be an excellent call-up this summer. The former Manchester City trainee has shone for Dortmund this season with 12 goals and five assists.
Like Nwaneri, Gittens has also been afforded under-21 opportunities having made 11 outings for the Young Lions. Should Tuchel want to potentially look elsewhere, he would do worse than look at Gittens.
Harry Kane is fully expected to play a full part in England’s upcoming fixtures - but should Bayern intervene, that could leave the Three Lions needing another striker for the summer. Ipswich Town star Liam Delap is the obvious choice.
The former Manchester City star has enjoyed an impressive first season at Portman Road with 12 Premier League goals to his name despite Ipswich’s Premier League. That has seen plenty of interest in his services develop, with Manchester United, Chelsea and Newcastle United all eyeing him.
Another position that could need bolstering this summer is at right-back. Reece James is due to link up with Chelsea at the tournament, while Trent Alexander-Arnold could play a part for Real Madrid.
Tino Livramento could represent an excellent option for the Three Lions. Unlike a few of his colleagues, the ex-Chelsea man has already made his England debut - that solitary appearance coming under Lee Carsley so Tuchel might be tempted to include him once more.
From a current Newcastle star to a former one now, Elliot Anderson has enjoyed a standout season for Nottingham Forest after helping the East Midlands side to a place in Europe. The 22-year-old has scored two and provided six assists so far this term.
Jude Bellingham and Conor Gallagher could see their England places called into a question, meaning there would be space for Anderson, who previously made six outings for the England under-21s earlier in his career.
