7 Emmerdale big spoilers with Aidan's coma and Nate Robinson's body

Producer Laura Shaw detailed what's to come this year in the Dales

Emmerdale hasn't been short of drama in recent weeks, and with some big storylines comes up in the ITV soap that won't be changing any time soon.

Ever since Joe Tate returned to the village there's been fireworks in every nook and cranny. Viewers learned of his kidney heist which saw him first kidnap and spike Noah Dingle in the hopes he'd be a match.

However, things soon turned sour when Noah was dumped on the side of the road after it was revealed he couldn't help Joe. After a tragic sequence of events, the spiking led to three deaths as Charity swerved the limo to avoid hitting Noah.

Amy Wyatt, Leyla Harding and Suzy Merton were the tragedies, sending a shockwave through the village. Of course, Joe was still in desperate need of a kidney and set his sights on Caleb Miligan.

After suffering a brutal stabbing, Caleb was taken to Dr Crowley who performed the surgery. Caleb found out and had a Home Farm showdown with Joe, but the pair agreed to keep civil as Joe threatened to tell the police about Anthony Fox if Caleb snitched.

John Sugden's true colours also showed as viewers saw a flashback where he accidentally killed Nate Robinson during the barn fire. He then tied his body in chains and dumped him in the lake.

Emmerdale producer Laura Shaw opened up about some of the big storylines that fans can look forward to this year. Speaking to the Manchester Evening News and other press, she teased what to expect over the next few months.

As Emmerdale confirmed, Joe Tate helps to organise a party for Lydia Dingle at Home Farm. However, he's unaware that he'll get his comeuppance as he's surrounded by his growing list of enemies.

Laura teased: "A lot of daggers drawn and a lot of people looking at Joe Tate and want him dead. One person will definitely be getting their revenge on Joe Tate, will the succeed on their murderous act? We’ll have to wait and see."

She then referenced the 'who killed Tom King' storyline in 2006 as she revealed: "There's g oing to be a little bit of a homage in here… couple of little Easter eggs on that."

The list of suspects are as follows: Caleb, Ruby, Cain, Billy, Dawn, Kerry, Charity, Noah and Clemmie.

As fans will recall, John was previously engaged to Aidan who is currently lying in a hospital bed in a coma. Although Aaron decided to forgive John after he originally told him Aidan was dead, could their upcoming nuptials be in jeopardy?

Laura shared: "John is full of trepidation… This wedding will be about all the secrets that might get exposed along the way. Aiden will not be in a coma forever, is he gonna wake up? If he does, is he gonna walk into the wedding, we’ll have to see."

Aaron and Johns wedding will be set over the whole week instead of just one episode. With John struggling over his guilt from previous actions, his wedding day is set to potentially be ruined.

Nate Robinson's body is currently in the lake, but on their special day the lake is having to be dredged. Laura teased: "We know that Nate’s body is still in that lake and I can reveal Nate is not going to stay in the bottom of that lake forever. When John knows the lake is gonna be dredged and the body is going to come up, will he make it to his vows? Is he going to be arrested? It’s all going on!"

She added: "With Nate and Aidan both threatening to ruin the day for John and put everything at risk, what lengths is John going to be pushed to to stop that from happening."

At the start of the year, Emmerdale shared five flashforwards to tease what's to come. So far, we've seen Caleb flatlining, Amy's hand under the ice and Nate's body.

The two that remain are Cain Dingle stood by a grave and Mackenzie Boyd running through the woods from someone or something.

Addressing Aaron and Mack's friendship that has become strained thanks to John's antics, Laura shared: "Towards end of summer into autumn, life-changing for those two.

"Still got the flashforward from new year, that might happen there… We haven’t filmed it yet but I have to say it’s one of the most gripping, exciting episodes I’ve read in a long time."

Viewers first saw Dylan when he helped April out after she ran away from the village. Since then, he went into rehab to fight his drug addiction, funded by Marlon.

Laura has now confirmed that Dylan will make his Dales comeback. She said: "Fred Kettle who plays Dylan is coming back. He’s going to be bringing his past back into the village with him, and that’s going to cause problems with April. A couple exciting new castings joining us for that story."

Bear Wolf joined Emmerdale in 2019 as the father of Paddy Kirk. He's since moved in with the happy couple - Paddy and Mandy.

While not much can be said about his big storyline yet, Laura admitted he'll be "off-screen for a little while and he’s going to go missing."

She continued: "When he comes back what you’ll see is a very different Bear in a very different situation, and we’re all gonna be watching and going 'what has happened here?!'"

Recently, Sarah made the decision that she wants to have a baby after things ended with both Jacob and Kammy. With her Fanconi Anaemia, it will be difficult for Sarah to get pregnant and so she admitted to Vanessa that she's been looking into IVF.

Addressing Sarah's next story, Laura said: "Big story, lots of twists and turns and it’s going to cause some big ruptures in the whole family."
