Ariana Grande's Grandmother Marjorie 'Nonna' Grande Dies At 99

Ariana Grande’s family has announced that the pop star’s grandmother, Marjorie Grande, has died. She was 99.
The “Wicked” star’s mom, Joan Grande, announced Marjorie’s death in an Instagram Stories post on Tuesday.

“We are devastated to share that the beloved matriarch of our family has passed away. Marjorie (Nonna) Grande passed peacefully in her home and was surrounded by her family and loved ones for every moment of her last few weeks,” Joan wrote in a family statement below a throwback photo of Marjorie.

The statement continued, “We thank you for your love, support and for respecting our privacy as we grieve and celebrate her beautiful, extraordinary life.”

The songwriter reposted her mom’s tribute to her Instagram Stories on Tuesday. Ariana also shared an image of what appeared to be her grandma and her late grandfather Frank, who died in July 2024.
Ariana’s older brother, Frankie Grande, shared a heartfelt tribute on his own Instagram account Tuesday, writing in part, “I love you endlessly, my sweet Nonna. I miss you more than words can hold. My heart is shattered, but I feel you watching over me, already so proud of everything I’ve done and all that is about to come.”
Frankie accompanied his post with photos of special moments that he shared with his late grandma.
Ariana has frequently shown love to her grandma over the years and often praised their close relationship.

Her grandma famously contributed to the Boca Raton-born musician’s song “Ordinary Things” from her “Eternal Sunshine” album released in March 2024. The song made a splash, making Marjorie the oldest artist to chart on the Billboard Hot 100 in April 2024, according to People.
The two-time Grammy winner gushed over her grandma’s achievement in an Instagram post at the time.
