Britney Spears has come forward with her side of the story about the in-flight drama that took place during her private jet trip from Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, to LAX.

Previously, it was reported that the singer left the crew "alarmed" by her behavior after she lit a cigarette midflight and was acting "difficult."

At the time, it was also mentioned that Britney Spears was "warned" by the authorities before being allowed to leave after the flight landed.

Britney Spears Thought She Could Smoke On The Plane

After recently making headlines over smoking on a private plane, Britney Spears has offered an explanation about what happened.

Taking to Instagram, the singer described the incident as "actually incredibly funny" before delivering a long rant about how she believed smoking was allowed on the plane.

"Some planes I've been on, you can't smoke, mostly, but this one was different because the drink holders were on [the] outside of [the] seat !!! Confession, it was my first time drinking VODKA!!! I swear I felt so SMART !!!" Spears explained.

After having some alcohol, Spears said she suddenly felt the urge to smoke, and a friend helped her light a cigarette.

"I was like wow what the heck is in there !!! I felt so clear and smart !!! And said I want a cigarette so bad !!! My friend put it in my mouth and lit it up for me, so I was like OH SO THIS IS A PLANE WHERE YOU CAN SMOKE !!!" the "Baby One More Time" singer added.

Elsewhere in the post, Spears gave a brief, nonchalant apology regarding her behavior in the air.

She said, "I do so apologize to anyone I offended, but the flight attendants always make sure I'm way at the back of the plane anyway!!"

She then appeared to poke fun at the moment officials confronted her about her behavior as the plane descended.

"I thought officials greeted me as support and I was like WOW I feel special," Spears wrote, adding, "Am I famous or something???

Britney Spears Slams Flight Attendant For Acting 'Weird'

Amid her rant, Spears also called out the flight attendant who reported her to the officials.

"The flight attendant called officials because I smoked a cigarette !!! And embarrass me, which, jeez, I thought was kinda much, but she didn't like me the moment I got on [the] plane," the singer said about the attendant.

Spears added, "She acted so weird… I didn't like the way she put the seatbelt on me and invaded my space !!!"

The 'Gimme More' Singer Was 'Difficult' During The Flight

According to an earlier report, Spears' behavior aboard the private plane left the crew "alarmed," as they were all aware that the singer was violating federal aviation regulations.

The singer was also reportedly "difficult" during the encounter, although she did comply with the request to put out her cigarette.

Since the incident, it has emerged that this is not the first time that she has been warned about her in-flight behavior

"This is not her first warning," a source told People Magazine. "She doesn't exactly follow the rules."

Britney Spears Broke Up With Her Ex-Convict Boyfriend Again

Last month, the pop star dumped her convict boyfriend Paul Soliz for the second time after their brief reconciliation in February.

At the time, reports claimed that Soliz had moved his belongings from the singer's home in Los Angeles, a sign suggesting that the breakup may be permanent this time around.

The first time they split, sources claimed it was because the "singer realized her former maintenance worker-turned-boyfriend was only using her for the luxurious lifestyle."

"She also saw how Paul was a deadbeat dad, and this was a major turnoff for her. But, before anything, she knew that staying with him would only lead her down a dark path. His history speaks for itself," the insider added, per the Daily Mail.

In the meantime, it is unclear if the previous speculations had anything to do with their latest split.

Prior to dating Soliz, Spears was married to Sam Asghari for just over a year, with their divorce finalized in May 2024.
