Chris Brown Granted Bail by UK Court Ahead of Breezy Bowl XX Tour
The singer was charged with grievous bodily harm in an alleged 2023 nightclub assault.

Chris Brown has been cleared to hit the road after a London court granted the Grammy winner bail, paving the way for his world tour to begin next month as he faces a serious criminal charge in the U.K.Â
CNN reports that on Wednesday, May 20, Southwark Crown Court Judge Tony Baumgartner granted the artist bail, setting strict financial and travel conditions.
Under the terms, the 36-year-old R&B singer must pay ÂŁ4 million (approximately $5.4 million) up front, with an additional ÂŁ1 million due within seven days. Heâs also required to surrender his passport, though exceptions will be made for travel related to his tour.
Brown was arrested last week at a Manchester hotel and initially denied bail after returning to the country since the February 19, 2023, incident.Â
The star is accused of inflicting grievous bodily harm in connection with what prosecutors have described as an âunprovoked attackâ on music producer Abraham Diaw at a London nightclub. Diaw claims Brown struck him with a tequila bottle, causing him to lose consciousness.Â
The âForeverâ crooner was not present in court during Wednesdayâs hearing and has not yet been asked to enter a plea. The singerâs associate and rapper HoodyBaby was also charged with grievous bodily harm with intent in connection with the incident.Â
With the legal clearance now in place, Brown is expected to proceed with his Breezy Bowl XX world tour, which kicks off June 8 in the Netherlands.
