Chris Brown Released on $6.7 Million Bail Ahead of Breezy Bowl XX Tour
While facing charges of suspicion of grievous bodily harm, Chris Brown released after paying $6.7 million for bail.

While looking forward to kicking off his Breezy Bowl XX tour in June, Chris Brown found himself behind bars on Thursday over an alleged assault that happened back in 2023. Sitting behind bars, the singer had little time to work with the courts to get himself out of jail. And to his surprise, a London judge decided to grant Brown’s release. But it came at a hefty price.
On June 8th, Brown will travel throughout North America and Europe for the Breezy Bowl XX tour. With fans clamoring to get tickets, many were left wondering if the tour would even happen when police took the singer into custody. The whole ordeal happened back in 2023 when the singer was accused of smashing a tequila bottle over the head of music producer Abraham Diaw. Thankfully, Diaw survived the attack.
Charged with suspicion of grievous bodily harm, the prosecutors looked to move forward with the case. On Saturday, musician Omololu Akinlolu also faced charges over the attack against Diaw.
While Brown was initially denied bail and set to stay behind bars until his next hearing on June 13th, the courts changed their decision. But again, it didn’t come without a price. The judge ordered Brown to pay a staggering $6.7 million. Although a large sum of money, the singer only needed to pay $5.4 million upfront. The other $1.3 million needed paid within seven days, or Brown could find himself in even more trouble.

Still having to confront the accusations brought against him, Brown will find himself at the Southwark Crown Court in London for his next hearing on June 20th. According to his current tour schedule, Brown will perform in Cardiff, U.K., on June 19th, and in London on June 21st.
As for Diaw, he filed a civil complaint against the singer for a whopping $16 million over the injuries he received from the alleged attack. At the time, he recalled the incident, insisting Brown “hit me over the head two or three times.” Recalling just how aggressive the attack was, Diaw added that his “knee collapsed” over the blunt trauma.
Having a long history of arrests and claims of violence, Brown’s time in London might last longer than a tour, depending on the outcome of the case.
