Colman Domingo Proves He's Met Gala 2025 Royalty in Jaw-Dropping Blue Cape
Colman Domingo arrived at the 2025 Met Gala May 5, where he is co-chair alongside Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, Pharrell Williams and Anna Wintour, dressed to impressed in a royal blue cape.

When it comes to the red carpet, Colman Domingo is bringing nothing short of his A-game.
And the 2025 Met Gala was no different. The Sing Sing star arrived at the Metropolitan Museum of Art May 5 perfectly encapsulating the âTailored for Youâ dress code in a dazzling pleated blue caped Valentino look, complete with a sequined breastplate. He finished off the ensemble with a statement necklace, stud earrings and gold jeweled ear cuff from Boucheron jewelry.  (See all the stars who stepped out at the Met Gala here.)Â
But beyond turning yet another red carpet into a runway, Colmanâwho made his debut at the 2024 galaâhas a special role at this yearâs Met event benefitting the Costume Institute.
Indeed, heâs co-chairing of the event, alongside Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, Pharrell Williams and permanent co-chair Anna Wintour. And itâs a role the actor doesnât take lightly as he recently shared insight into his look.

âItâs gonna be beautiful,â Colman, 55, teased to E! News at the Fashion Trust U.S. Awards last month. âWe just finalized our designs, and I think itâs going to be an epic look. If anything, I can tease that Iâm playing with history.â

His show-stopping ensemble certainly lived up to the hypeâand with good reason as he explained how over the course of six sketches he and Valentino found a design that pays homage the Costume Institute exhibit âSuperfine: Tailoring Black Style.â
âThen we did some editorial decisions together,â Colman explained. âWe took some elements we really loved with one thing and pushed the envelope with other things. Then we arrived at what I think will make me feel my very best and feel very on point. And celebrate really fine tailoring.â
From the Oscars to the Met steps, the Emmy winner is always topping the best dressed lists. As for his secret to a winning look, itâs actually quite simple.
âI always want to feel effortlessly luxurious,â Colman noted. âI want to feel like Iâm the party in some way shape or form. I always want to feel like Iâm at ease, I never want to feel too fussy.â
