Eurovision 2025 hosts Rylan Clark and Scott Mills forced to address complaints

The Eurovision semi-final was bombarded with a deluge of complaints from irate viewers grappling with their inability to vote.
The 2025 Eurovision Song Contest kicked off on Tuesday evening (May 14) with the first semi-final sparkling amidst the grandeur of Basel, Switzerland.
Eighteen nations out of the 37 hopefuls showcased their talent in the inaugural show, including Sweden's act, KAJ, who are topping the odds charts at the bookies.
With Rylan Clark and Scott Mills at the helm providing engaging commentary, the duo were compelled to clarify the voting restrictions for UK viewers. Rylan announced: "So as we told you earlier, you can't vote tonight but you will get a chance on Thursday."

Scott chimed in with: "Also, some people are going 'well, that's not' fair, no, no for other countries, they will vote in one and not in the other."
Article continues belowNonetheless, the clarifications did little to alleviate the puzzlement of spectators who took to social media to voice their concerns over the voting system, reports the Express.
A disgruntled viewer commented: "Why does the Rest of the World #Eurovision vote open 24 hours BEFORE the show, before anyone's even seen the performances? Yeah, I get time zones exist, but if you're not watching live, should you really be voting? Feels like BS."
Another sarcastically noted: "Will have to fiddle the international calls to vote today, as the @BBC are blocking UK from voting in Eurovision."
One viewer quipped: "UK viewers cannot vote tonight. B****y Starmer again!"
However, the sound quality also drew criticism, with some viewers pointing out that the music was drowning out the vocals. A viewer posted: "What's wrong with @bbceurovision @Eurovision this year all the music I way louder than the vocals so it's hard to hear anything what any of the countries are singing. I hope it won't be like this on the final on Saturday #Eurovision2025 #Eurovision #Eurovisión #Eurovisión2025."
