GMB abruptly halted as Susanna Reid shares concern for co-star after 'gunshot'
Noel Phillips reported live from Los Angeles as he was suddenly interrupted by police and a 'worrying' loud bang on ITV's Good Morning Britain.
It was initially thought that US correspondent Noel Phillips could have been in danger on Monday's Good Morning Britain. The reporter had been live in Los Angeles, sharing the latest updates on the ongoing riots when a loud bang interrupted his live broadcast.Â
He began to speak to one of the protesters, who had been involved with the clash with National Guards, as they were interrupted by police. As they began to walk away, with Noel urging the woman: "Come on," a loud bang could be heard. She defiantly said: "I am not scared of these guys". The feed then cut off and returned to Ranvir Singh in the ITV studio. She explained: "Just to be clear, that was fireworks. There are several cameras there so we just want to make that clear for you, because it is obviously alarming to hear that kind of sound behind a live report."

A little while later, Noel was ready to continue the harrowing report. Susanna explained: "We will go back to Los Angeles and catch up with our correspondent, Noel Phillips. As you said, Ranvir, the sound that was thought to have sounded like a gunshot, but it was actually, we think, was fireworks which are being used."
She added: "Let's see if we can go back to Noel. Noel, are you ok, firstly?" There was a brief silence before the reporter stuttered: "Yes I am, Susanna. In fact, I have lost comms with you so I am having to listen to you via mobile phone.Â
"This just gives you a sense of how chaotic it is here, because just behind our cameras, there are National Guard troops appearing to move along the street."
