This is not a drill! Online sleuths may have figured out what the secret Met Gala carpet color is!
@monetbyjamesjay on X, the app formerly known as Twitter, shared an update that has the internet losing it. Apparently, fans know the carpet color. They posted photos to X with the caption reading, “????ATTENTION???? This year’s #MetGala carpet is rumored to be BLUE after fans tried to take a sneak peak behind the curtain! Stay tuned for the official pictures in a few hours.”
That’s right: the carpet may be blue!

Well, per Curbed, the Met Gala carpet is a significant aspect of showcasing the theme. For 2025, the theme is “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” which is all about cultural identity and Black dandyism. (The dress code is “Tailored for You.”)
Is blue a big color in Black dandyism? While it isn’t a defining color, it did exude elegance and aristocratic vibes. Basically, blue can be a statement color, often used in 19th-century staples like navy suits and frock coats.
So, it’s clear they’re incorporating that elegant vibe in the carpet!
