The singer found out her diagnosis before the release on April 25, 2025, of her latest single, “No Secrets.” Jessie, who shares a 2-year-old son named Sky with her boyfriend Chanan Colman, shared a bit of what the last few weeks have been like for her.
“I have been in and out of tests throughout this whole period. I just wanted to be open and share it. One, because, selfishly, I do not talk about it enough. I’m not processing it because I’m working so hard. I also know how much sharing in the past has helped me with other people giving me their love and support, and also their own stories. I’m an open book,” said Jessie on Instagram.
One thing is for sure, and that is that Jessie is using her well-noted sense of humor to help her get through the mix of emotions that she is feeling. She captioned the video saying, “No (more) Secrets and is it too soon to do a remix called ‘Living my breast life’? All jokes aside (You know it’s one of the ways I get through hard times), this last 2 months have been so amazing, and having this go on alongside it on the sidelines has given me the most incredible perspective. BUT… Your girl needs a hug..”
Finding a lump in your breast is considered to be one of the biggest signs, but according to Mail Online, it is usually going to end up being a benign mass, or often just a harmless cyst. Doctors say to be especially aware of lumps that are painless and hard. An infected lymph gland will swell, so watch for swelling under your arms that doesn’t go away. If you were to have breast cancer, swelling under your arm could indicate that it has spread
Also, if a rash occurs with swelling or a thickening of your skin, it may be a sign of breast cancer. Any change in the color is one more warning sign that you should have checked out. One more thing, dimpling skin is often compared to orange peel and can be associated with inflammatory breast cancer, which is a rare but aggressive form of cancer.
If you or someone you love is experiencing any of these symptoms, err on the side of caution and make an appointment.
