In keeping with the evening’s theme, “Tailored for You,” her ensemble paid homage to the legacy of precision craftsmanship. While her daughter, North West, didn’t get to attend the Met Gala, she traveled with her famous mom to cheer her on from the hotel room. Here’s what Kardashian said about North while at the Met Gala and amidst the drama with Kanye “Ye” West.
Kim Kardashian turned heads at the 2025 Met Gala in a daring, custom Chrome Hearts ensemble that fused rock-and-roll edge with meticulous tailoring. Staying true to the brand’s gothic-luxe aesthetic, the look featured a sharply fitted black leather trench gown adorned with hand-stitched crosses, silver hardware, and corset-style boning that sculpted her figure with precision. The piece was both dramatic and deeply personal, nodding to Chrome Hearts’ legacy of craftsmanship while aligning perfectly with the night’s theme, “Tailored for You.”
Kardashian spoke to Emma Chamberlain while at the event. “Every time I come to the Met, I love bringing my oldest daughter with me,” the mom of four said, “just to see me get ready. All her aunties are in the hotel, and we’re all getting ready together. So, it’s a fun few days.”
Kardashian noted that North West, 11, is a “big critiquer,” but the child encourages Kardashian to wear whatever makes her feel good. ” … I think she’s in a really positive place — like, vibe — right now, where it’s just like, ‘Hey, even if that’s not my style, I’m not gonna critique that, because, just be you. And if you like that, then that’s what you should be into.’ So, I love that energy. She was such a positive force tonight.”
North West loves stepping out in style, and Kim Kardashian doesn’t mind showing her 11-year-old off on Instagram. On May 5, 2025, Kardashian posted a clip of her and North to her Instagram Stories. The clip began with the mom and daughter dressed in normal clothing. After a few seconds, they changed into Met Gala style. Kardashian wore her Chrome Hearts look, and North debuted blue braids, a cow skin sweater, matching shorts, and blue and diamond jewelry.
This isn’t the first time that North turned heads with her style. In February 2025, the 11-year-old paired a brown oversized fur bomber hat with camo pants and a Tyler, the Creator T-shirt. Many fans noticed that North’s hat looked just like a hat Kanye “Ye” West’s wife, Bianca Censori, wore in the past.
Kim Kardashian speaking highly of North West’s “energy” while at the 2025 Met Gala might give fans relief. Kardashian and Kanye “Ye” West appear to be at odds over their kids in 2025. West took to X and alleged that Kardashian kept their four children away from him, and he planned to go for full custody. While Kardashian has not publicly spoken out regarding the situation, sources claim she has already lawyered up.
“Her team is in crisis mode,” a source told The U.S. Sun. “The plan is to lodge something with the court this week and using the fact that Kanye stated his plans to seek full custody of the kids. The plan is to question whether he is ‘mentally fit’ to do so, and then get the ball rolling. It’s a pretty fast-moving situation. Kim is determined to get Kanye and his threats removed from her life; she says she can’t live like this anymore.”
