The Met Gala, known as fashion’s biggest night, is held on the first Monday in May and celebrates the opening of the Costume Institute’s spring exhibition at the New York museum.
This year’s theme, Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, casts an eye back over 300 years of Black fashion, the concept of black dandyism and its lasting impact on contemporary style.

For the gala, Kim chose a fitted dress paired with tailored leather and topped off with a Chrome Hearts fedora, channeling the zoot suits of black male fashion from the 1930s, as reported by the Mail. She also donned a sparkling diamond necklace and matching earrings.
Before hitting the red carpet glamour, North West was snapped in pre-event mode with mum Kim. The 11 year old sported a coordinated cowhide jacket and shorts ensemble, paired with black Nike high crew socks and $1,200 black leather Rick Owens trainers.
Kim's sister Kendall Jenner stepped out in a two-piece ensemble by British designer Torisheju Dumi, while Kylie Jenner arrived with Ferragamo designer Maximilian Davis wearing a herringbone halter-neck dress with a sheer bodice and a tweed skirt with a high slit.
