Kylie Jenner remembers late friend as she marks first Met Gala since his death
Kylie Jenner was helped to get ready for previous instalments of the annual Met Gala in New York by her late pal and hairstylist Jesus Guerrero, who died earlier this year
Kylie Jenner has remembered her friend Jesus Guerrero ahead of attending her first Met Gala since his death. She subtly paid tribute to the late hairstylist on social media before gracing the red carpet of the annual fashion event.
It was announced in February that Jesus - who had worked with a host of celebrity clients in his career - had "suddenly and unexpectedly" died, aged 34. The news was met with tributes at the time, including from people he had worked with like singer Jennifer Lopez and reality TV star Kylie, 27.

The Kardashians star appeared to reflect on her friendship with Jesus in a post on her Instagram Story today ahead of this year's Met Gala. She's expected to be among the guests at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York tonight.

Jesus had worked with Kylie on her looks for the high-profile event in previous years and she shared a throwback of them together on the platform earlier. The entrepreneur didn't provide a caption on the photo of herself and her pal Jesus.
The photo showed her getting ready for last year's Met Gala, which had the theme Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion. She was seen in the off-white gown that she later modelled on the red carpet whilst Jesus worked on her hair.

This year marks Kylie's first Met Gala with Jesus, whom she described as "more" than a friend in a tribute post to him earlier this year following his death. She told fans at the time that she would "cherish" all of their moments together.
Kylie wrote in February: "Jesus was more than my friend - he was a light in my life, a source of laughter, comfort, love, and unwavering support. I don't know how I would have made it through the last almost decade without him by my side. He had a way of making even the heaviest days feel lighter."
She added in her post at the time: "Thank you, Jesus, for always being there for me, for lifting me up, for being my friend. The pain of losing you is just unbearable and I don't know how to move forward without you but I know great grief is born only of great love. And I loved you so much."
â
Kylie continued in her message: "You were the best person, with a talent that was unmatched. A true artist. You inspired so many, and you always will. Your words, your laughter, your kindness, your beautiful spirit will live in my heart forever."
She concluded: "I'll cherish all our moments together. Every laugh and hug. I wish I could hug you again. I laid in your bed the way you used to lay in mine, talking for hours. I would give anything for one more deep talk. I'm going to miss you so much. More than words can say. 222 my angel."

Her post two months ago had included various photos of herself and Jesus from their time together. Although different to the photo shared by Kylie today, one showed Jesus attending to her hair ahead of last year's Met Gala.
Over the years, Jesus had posted about his friendship with Kylie on his own account. In one post, alongside photos of Kylie in an outfit that she modelled to an after-party following the Met Gala in 2023, he described her as his "muse".
