New trailer confirms focus for Bridgerton season 4
A first look at Bridgerton season 4 confirms the focus for the next season of the steamy period show
Netflix has released a first look at Bridgerton season 4, confirming that the focus of this season will be on Luke Thompsonâs Benedict, the oldest Bridgerton man yet unmarried.
With Daphne, Anthony, and now Colin all married off happily, itâs Benedictâs turn to brave the balls and luncheons to find a fitting bridge.
Judging from how heâs followed through the crowd by women calling his name, it doesnât seem like heâs going to have a lack of options â but he only seems to have eyes for a mysterious masked woman in the crowd.
Hereâs a deep dive into everything we know about Bridgerton season 4 so far.
Bridgerton season 4 release date
Netflix has confirmed that Bridgerton season 4 wonât be coming out until 2026 - and it could be halfway through the year.
Showrunner Jess Brownell told the Hollywood Reporter that two years between seasons is to be expected. Bridgerton season 3 was released in two parts in May and June 2024.
"We are working to try and put the seasons out more quickly,â she said. âBut they do take eight months to film and then they have to be edited, and then they have to be dubbed into every language.
"And then writing takes a very long time as well, so we're kind of on a two-year pace, we're trying to speed up but somewhere in the range."
Who will star in Bridgerton season 4?
Netflix
Of course, the teaser offers a first look at the leading stars of season 4, who had already been confirmed prior.
Returning familiar face Luke Thompson will star opposite Yerin Ha, who will play his love interest Sophie.
Knowing the central couple doesnât mean we know the ins and outs of the season, as Bridgerton has already proven.
The steamy Netflix show is less about who ends up with who and more about how the couples find their way to happiness.
Other stars back for the new season include Jonathan Bailey as Anthony Bridgerton, Adjoa Andoh as Lady Danbury, Julie Andrews as the voice of Lady Whistledown, Lorraine Ashbourne as Mrs Varley, Simone Ashley as Kate Bridgerton, Nicola Coughlan as Penelope Bridgerton, Hannah Dodd as Francesca Stirling, Ruth Gemmell as Violet Bridgerton, Luke Newton as Colin Bridgerton, and many more besides.
Will Bridgerton have even more seasons?
Netflix also announced that season 5and 6 have been green lit for production.
Presumably, this will follow more of the cast entering the marriage mart, with at least two younger siblings, Gregory and Hyacinth, still too young to marry. Although if the books are anything to go by, there could still be more twists on the way.
Fans of Bridgerton spin-off, Queen Charlotte, were also teased with a cryptic video shared to the official TikTok, with the caption: âWith dignity and delight, we gather to observe another year of the story of Her Majesty The Queen.â
Some fans took this to mean we could get another season of Queen Charlotte, perhaps documenting more of her early years of marriage, or the middle years of her life before we meet her in Bridgerton.
However, no confirmation of this speculation has come from Netflix, so we might just be reading into a caption too much. After all, Queen Charlotte was more of a contained prequel series than one with enough room to grow into multiple seasons.
