Peppa Pig's baby sister Evie will cost Mummy Pig over £2k in her first year
The Pig family welcomed their third child this week, after months of speculation about the due date, gender and name - and now the cost of raising her has been revealed
Mummy Pig is set to face a challenging first year with her latest arrival, tackling around 5,238 baby wipes and 3,365 nappies while managing an average of just four hours sleep a night.
She's expected to snap a staggering 6,689 photos of the new piglet in the first year – that's more than 18 pics per day. On top of that, she'll be using approximately 1,642 breast pads, which works out at nearly five daily.
The family is also likely to receive 13 presents from friends and relatives, along with eight pieces of unsolicited advice. These stats come from a poll of 1,000 parents with babies born in the past decade, tailored to everyone's favourite animated porcine family.
An Asda representative commented on the occasion, marking the birth of Peppa Pig's little sister: "We want to wish the whole Pig family well as they embark on their new venture as a family of five."
They added: "It's heartwarming to see how invested the nation is with this announcement, but I'm sure their family is the same as many others when it comes to concerns around the cost of living - particularly with three little ones in the house."
The newly expanded family’s costs seem significant, with nappies estimated at £178 per month, baby clothes at £205, and baby wipes at £56. Additions like baby formula and medicines are slated to cost £178 and £46 respectively every four weeks. For Evie's playtime and learning, expenditures on toys and books are projected to hit £60 monthly, all according to data by OnePoll.

A spokesperson from Asda chimed in amidst the excitement, noting the high costs involved with raising tots. "The cost of having a young family can really add up."
They quipped that the Pigs might want to reuse some hand-me-downs from George or even Peppa's infancy. "Hopefully, the Pigs will have kept some of George – or even Peppa's – baby stuff from when they were smaller, and they can use it again."
And with special Rollback prices on baby essentials like nappies and wipes, parents can breathe a sigh of relief. "No doubt Daddy Pig will be sent up to the loft to dig out old boxes of toys, cribs and baby bags, but we just hope he's careful up on that ladder."
