R&B superstar Chris Brown has been arrested following bottle attack at a London nightclub.
Met Police officers arrested the 36-year-old US star just after 2am on Thursday at the five-star Lowry Hotel in Manchester, The Sun reported.
The force has confirmed an arrest was made following an incident at a venue in Hanover Square, Mayfair, on February 19, 2023.
Brown was accused by Abraham Diaw of launching an unprovoked attack on him while the star and his entourage were at a Dirty Martini club night held at trendy Tape nightclub.
He told The Sun on Sunday: âHe hit me over the head two or three times. My knee collapsed as well.â
The newspaper reported that the victim, a producer, had to be taken to hospital and needed crutches to walk when he was discharged.
Brown was on a worldwide tour and playing in the UK at the time of the alleged attack.
Mr Diaw launched a civil claim against Brown for $16 million(ÂŁ12 million) in damages for injuries and losses suffered as a result of the alleged attack.
The Sun is reporting that they asked police whether Brown was under arrest after the R&B star flew into Manchester Airport on a private jet on Wednesday afternoon.
Met detectives then travelled to Manchester where they arrested him and took him in custody for questioning.
The Met said: âA 36-year-old man was arrested at a hotel in Manchester shortly after 02:00hrs on Thursday, 15 May on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.
âHe has been taken into custody where he remains.
âThe arrest relates to an incident at a venue in Hanover Square on 19 February 2023.â
The Standard has approached Brownâs representative for comment.
The arrest comes just over three weeks before the singer is due to launch his Breezy Bowl XX world tour.
Scheduled UK dates include two days - June 21 and 22 - at Londonâs Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
