Shareca Allen, a 37-year-old NYPD officer, was arrested just before 1 a.m. in the 83rd police precinct in Bushwick, cops said. She has been assigned to the precinct since April, records state.
Allen was on duty at the time of the arrest, according to authorities.
She faces several charges, including operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated, and driving while ability impaired.
The NYPD confirmed the arrest and charges but did not provide additional details regarding circumstances leading to the bust.
Allen has been a police officer since 2021, according to records. Before she was assigned to the 83rd precinct, she worked in the Brooklyn courthouses.
There is one unsubstantiated complaint against her from 2023, for neglecting to turn on her body-worn camera, according to the civilian complaint review board.
