Rihanna cradles baby bump as A$AP Rocky makes statement on pregnancy

Rihanna's partner made a touching comment after the couple revealed that they're expecting their third child. Although both Rihanna and her partner A$AP Rocky were present at the Met Gala, they chose not to pose together for the red carpet snaps outside the venue.

Recently, there's been much buzz about the Umbrella star possibly being pregnant but she kept quiet on the subject as she was seen in loose-fitting clothing when out and about recently. Nonetheless, during her blue carpet appearance at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday, Rihanna's pregnancy was unmistakable, with the Grammy winner gently cradling her belly, drawing all eyes to her.

Dressed to impress in an all-black ensemble, the Te Amo singer celebrated the first menswear-themed event in over 20 years in style. Her outfit hugged her form while her baby bump remained the proud highlight as she touched it gently, reports the Mirror. Speaking with CBS Mornings, A$AP remarked on his other half's outfit choice and its significance, saying: "Rihanna's outfit tonight is...I don't know, whatever, just don't really cover her baby hump, ya dig?"

The pop icon turned heads in a cutting-edge creation by iconic designer Marc Jacobs; the outfit featured a long black skirt, a short black jacket, and a grey bustier that showcased her bump beautifully. Rihanna's look was topped off with a striking black hat, a red polka-dot scarf, and chic black-and-white high heels.

At the same time, A$AP, this year's co-host, was spotted wearing a bespoke black suit he had designed himself. The rapper effortlessly embodied the theme of the evening, Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, chosen by Condé Nast's Dame Anna Wintour.

The theme aimed to delve into the impact of clothing and style on shaping Black identities.

Notably, 2025 marks the first time in over two decades that the prestigious event has focused exclusively on menswear, drawing inspiration from Monica L Miller's 2009 book, Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity.

Rihanna and A$AP are parents to two children, two-year-old RZA Athelston Mayers and one-year-old Riot Rose Mayers. Interestingly, the Met Gala isn't the only high-profile event where Rihanna has chosen to reveal her pregnancies.

In 2023, she confirmed her second pregnancy in a similarly understated manner, showcasing her growing bump during her Super Bowl performance. By doing so, she became the first person to headline the halftime show while pregnant.

However, in a later interview with Access Hollywood in December 2023, Rihanna revealed that she hadn't initially planned to unveil her bump during the performance. "Here's the thing. I did what I had to do, right? My jumper couldn't zip up," she explained.

Chuckling, she added: "No one knew I was pregnant. I just told my stylist, 'Make sure it's stretchy.' So the undergarment was stretchy and this [jacket] was baggy, but you know, the zip. It just stopped right there! So it had to be what it had to be."

She first announced her pregnancy in a series of romantic snaps with A$AP, captured during an affectionate photo session in New York City. Last year, the SOS singer opened up about how motherhood has introduced new fears into her life.

In a revealing discussion with The Cut, she expressed her increased sense of vulnerability since becoming a parent. "I'm actually afraid of sh**. The well-being of your kids, you worry about that constantly," she admitted.

She also shared a sentiment many parents relate to: "Nobody warns you that having kids means you're going to worry every second of your life."
