The “Price Tag” singer took to Instagram to share the news in a short yet candid video with her fans, revealing she found out shortly before releasing her new song, “No Secrets,” in April.
“Before ‘No Secrets’ came out, I was diagnosed with early breast cancer,” she said in the video. “I’m highlighting the word ‘early.’ Cancer sucks in any form, but I’m holding on to the word early.”

The 37-year-old said she went back and forth about sharing the news, but “wanted to be open,” mainly because “I do not talk about it enough, I’m not processing it because I’m working so hard.”
“I also know how much sharing in the past has helped me with other people giving me their love and support and also their own stories,” she added.
The English singer noted she plans to “disappear for a bit” to get surgery, joking it’s a “very dramatic way to get a boob job.”
