Sinner vs Alcaraz - LIVE!
The Italian Open has served up a blockbuster final encounter as Jannik Sinner takes on Carlos Alcaraz with the title on the line in Rome this afternoon. World number Sinner has the home advantage and has been in imperious form this week, but Alcaraz is looking to back up the Monte Carlo title he won earlier this season.
This is Sinner’s first tournament back after a doping ban and he has picked up from where he left off when winning the Australian Open. That came after he went all the way at the ATP World Tour Finals and in Shanghai, meaning his last defeat came in the China Open final at the start of October against Alcaraz. The Italian has been largely dominant this week, though Tommy Paul did take him to three sets in the semi-finals.
Alcaraz has had to battle injury issues during the clay-court season but has still made the final in all three tournaments he has played. He has won six of the ten matches he has played against Sinner, including all of the last three, and Alcaraz will be keen to make another statement here ahead of the French Open later this month.
