Stranger Things fans all say same thing as season 5 release date confirmed
Stranger Things season 5 has been given an official release date by Netflix, along with a brand new trailer, but fans have been left asking the same question
Stranger Things fans have all asked the same thing after Netflix finally confirmed the release dates of the show's final season.
The adventures of Eleven, Mike, Will, Max, Lucas, Dustin and the rest of the gang is nearing its end. As part of the streaming company's Tudum event, which was broadcast live to subscribers, the release date was finally confirmed along with other details.
Fans have been waiting a considerable amount of time for the fifth instalment of the popular series. It was reported that creators and writers the Duffer brothers began working on the season back in 2022 when they revealed the name of the first episode.
This was a month after season 4, volume 2 debuted on the platform. As a result, fans have been made to wait nearly three years before finding out how the entire story ultimately ends.
Now it has been confirmed just when fans can stream the remaining parts and there is an unusual release schedule. Season five will actually be released in three parts.
The full release schedule is as follows for UK based subscribers:
Volume 1, 27 November, 1am GMT
Volume 2, 26 December, 1am GMT
The Finale, 1 January, 1am GMT
Netflix usually releases new titles and seasons to UK based users at 8am on their release day. This means the 1am time an unusual one, reports Surrey Live.
However there is a reason. Netflix has made the decision so that the final episodes of Stranger Things will be released at the same time around the world. This means it will be available at 5pm in the US.
Fans were quick to react to the news shared at the Tudum event. One posted on social media saying: "1am!!!!!! I’m going to enjoy the spoilers at breakfast."
Another replied: "Never forgiving whoever at netflix decided it'd be good idea to release all the stranger things 5 volumes at 1am."
While someone else added: "Stranger Things The Finale: New Year's Eve releases January 1st 1am. Guess I’m not sleeping in 2026."
Matt and Ross Duffer previously told Tudum that they wrote a 25-page mythology document for Netflix back in Season 1 that delves into the lore of the Upside Down. Explaining, Matt said: “We were like, ‘we know what’s going on in the Upside Down, more or less, but we want it to be unknowable. We want it to be mysterious..’ But they (Netflix) were like, ‘Yeah, but can you write it down?’ And so we wrote it all down.”

While the audience learned quite a bit about the Upside Down in Season 4, there’s definitely more to come in Season 5. Ross added: “The last remaining questions that are answered in that document, we’ve punted a couple of those to have some big reveals in Season 5 and that’s really going to affect what Season 5 is about.”
Stranger Things season 5 is streaming on Netflix starting November 27.
