Timothee Chalamet 'ecstatic' after ditching Kylie Jenner at Met Gala
Fans furiously speculated if the unlikely couple would use the event to make their red carpet debut, having only been pictured together inside awards ceremonies and at after parties in the past.
She has been his glamorous arm candy, proudly watching as he was lauded by peers at the industryâs biggest awards ceremonies for his turn as Bob Dylan.
But Kylie Jenner was flying solo at the Met Gala after her boyfriend Timothée Chalamet skipped the annual fashion soiree in favor of a boys night in with his beloved Knicks.
Fans furiously speculated if the unlikely couple would use the event to finally make their red carpet debut, having only been pictured together inside events and at after parties in the past.
Now, a source has told Daily Mail that Chalamet did consider joining Jenner but was ultimately âecstaticâ at not attending.
âTimothĂ©e did consider going to the Met Gala, but he is a huge Knicks fan and Kylie knows this,â our insider said. âKylie didn't bother him to go with her and thatâs something he appreciates about her. She allows him to do his own thing.â
Jenner looked stunning in a skin tight corset dress by Italian fashion house Ferragamo which she teamed with a pair of ÂŁ700 designer shoes as she joined a slew of celebrities for the coveted bash.

Meanwhile, Chalamet was sharing pictures from his boys night as he watched the Knicksâ rollercoaster 108-105 comeback win over the Celtics in the second-round playoff series.
In one impassioned post the Wonka actor announced he was âsh***ing myselfâ because âthis game is insane.â
The couple, who have been dating since 2023, are said to have discussed attending together, but, as well as the Knicks game, they decided they didnât want to be a spectacle.
âThey didn't want to do the whole song and dance of it all together because it would have felt more like a chore over a fun date night,â the source added. âIf it was Kylieâs first Met Gala, or an event where she was being honored for something then he would have been there 100 per cent, but they decided to do their own thing.
âAnd with the Knicksâ performance, TimothĂ©e was ecstatic that he watched the game.â
In Chalamet's absence, Jenner posed up with Ferragamo designer Maximilian Davis.
But hours after they worked the famous steps together, the businesswoman was left screaming in agony as a flurry of assistants scrambled to prise her shoes from her feet.
Jenner revealed Davis had advised her to tape them into the heels.

'Max told me to tape my feet into the shoes and now my feet are stuck in the shoes,' she said in an Instagram video, before screaming in pain.
She was also joined at the Gala by her sisters Kendall Jenner and Kim Kardashian who was seen scolding a security guard after he accidentally stepped on her dress and nearly caused her to stumble as she made her way to the The Metropolitan Museum of Art with her daughter North, 11.
Jenner and Chalamet have not been shy about engaging in PDAs at glitzy events such as this year's Oscars ceremony and Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival last month.Â
Just days before the Met Gala they were pictured stealing kisses at a basketball game.Â
Last week, a source told Daily Mail that their longevity is down to the enforcement of strict rules around social media and Jenner's family reality TV show, The Kardashians.
'Timothée made his intentions clear early [on] that he didn't ever want to be a prop,' they said. 'That is why he doesn't want to be on the Kardashian's show and is only seen with Kylie at events.
'He wants to be one of the Hollywood greats and wants to avoid falling into the trap of being known simply for who he is dating. It would be gut wrenching. They both know that if he started appearing on the family show then they wouldn't work.'
Jenner, who has two young children with her ex Travis Scott, appears to have issued a blanket ban on any questions about Chalamet in interviews too, with the actor mentioned only in passing in major recent spreads in the Wall Street Journal and Vogue.Â
Chalamet followed suit when Jenner cropped up during an interview earlier this year.
Asked what it was like to have his 'partner in crime, Kylie' supporting him at the Palm Springs International Film Festival, he refused to acknowledge her and instead addressed the support he gets from fans and peers.
