Tony Bellew's worrying comment after quitting Soccer Aid minutes into game

Tony Bellew was forced to quit the Soccer Aid match at Old Trafford just minutes into the game.
The boxing legend had to be helped off the turf after sustaining a painful-looking injury.

Tony, who started for the World XI in the annual charity clash against England, was taken off the pitch six minutes into the game and was replaced by Strictly Come Dancing pro Gorka Marquez.

Close ups from the camera before he left the pitch showed Tony appeared to be in severe pain having gestured for assistance from the physio team.
While the nature of the injury has not been confirmed, Tony was struggling to walk off the pitch.

Commentator Sam Matterface later disclosed a worrying comment from Bellew to medics.
He said the former boxing champ had told them "something went bang and I heard it go".
Fellow commentator Jason Manford remarked: "That's not good."

Tony was already injured before starting the game.
Coach Harry Redknapp revealed on the Off Air podcast with Jane Garvey and Fi Glover that the boxer had sustained a groin injury during training.
"We give up our time, free of charge, and come and enjoy it to raise as much money as we can," said Redknapp.

"Tony Bellew, ex-world champion, he's just decided to boot a ball without even warming up and just tore his groin.
"He's so tough he'll probably play on with it."
