Viewers praise Soccer Aid half-time show as Hallé Children's Choir perform
The Manchester-based vocal outfit joined the Irish pop star on the Old Trafford pitch
Soccer Aid viewers were quick to take to social media to heap praise on the moving and emotive half-time show which rendered the crowd of 70,000 at Old Trafford completely silent.
Irish singer Dermot Kennedy, who put in a stellar performance in midfield for the World XI in the first-half, was joined by the local Hallé Children's Choir on the pitch to perform his hit Better Days.
Founded in 2008, the Hallé Children’s Choir is made up of over 90 children aged 8-12 (academic years 4-8) from across Greater Manchester and beyond.
They did themselves proud as they provided backing vocals for Kennedy, and those watching on took to X to express their admiration.
@ledwards1996 wrote: "This Dermot Kennedy performance in Soccer Aid is actually boss tbf. And the monologue before it."
@SamieJxx posted: "Dermot Kennedy is an phenomenal singer, his voice is incredible," while @Emma__Shine added: "Dermot Kennedy is an incredible singer, that voice."

Tweet of the evening has to go to @EliottCotton1, however, who wrote: "The best performance old trafford has seen this year is Dermot Kennedy."
Manchester United fans won't like that one but might be inclined to agree.

It was revealed at half-time that an estimated £7,038,047 has been raised for UNICEF this year.
Rest of the World defeated England 5-4 at Old Trafford with Carlos Tevez - formerly of Man United and Man City - and Angry Ginge starring for their respective teams.
