The entirety of Andor is set five years before Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The first season covers one year in Cassian Andorâs life in the year 5BBY (Before Battle Of Yavin), while the second season spans the remaining four years in the run up to the Battle of Scarif, depicted in Rogue One. During this battle, the Rebel Alliance stole schematics for the Death Star, which led to its destruction in the Battle Of Yavin as seen in 1977âs Star Wars: Episode 4 â A New Hope.
Cassian Andor plays an instrumental role in obtaining the Death Star plans â hence why the character has been given his own show to begin with.

The ending of Andor season two ties directly into events of Rogue One. In the final episode, Cassian Andor is informed of the Galactic Empireâs super weapon by Kleya Marki (Elizabeth Dulau), who learnt of the plans from Lonni (Robert Emms). However, at this point, they donât know of the weaponâs true capabilities, aka how it can destroy planets.
Cassian relays what he knows about the weapon to the Rebel Alliance leadership, who are initially reluctant to trust the information. After some hesitation, Cassian is trusted to meet one of Saw Gerreraâs men, Tivik (Daniel Mays), who has information on the weapon but will only speak to Cassian about it if he travels to Kafrene.
This meeting on Kafrene is the first time we meet Cassian Andor and K-2SO in Rogue One, where they learn from Tivik the full truth behind the Death Star.

In Rogue One, Cassian Andor and Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) lead a mission to steal the Death Star schematics from the Empire, in what is known as the Battle of Scarif. They both manage to retrieve and send the plans, which expose the Death Starâs weakness, to a rebel command ship flying above the planet, but not without any sacrifice.
Moments after the plans are transmitted to the rebels, the Death Star arrives above Scarif and destroys the citadel below â killing both Jyn Erso and Cassian Andor.

While Cassian Andorâs fate was known to anyone who had already watched Rogue One, the Andor season two finale had one unexpected, bittersweet revelation.
In the final scene, we see Bix Caleen (Adria Arjona) has returned to Mina-Rau and is raising a baby. Itâs here we discover this is the real reason why she left Cassian Andor on Yavin 4, so she could raise their baby in peace away from the Empire.
This scene means Cassian Andor has a child in the Star Wars universe he was unaware of, which gives his death in Rogue One even more emotional weight, while potentially setting up another spin-off story.
