On Tuesday, Woodburnâs publicist confirmed that the television star and cleaning guru known for fronting the show How Clean Is Your House? had died following a short illness.
In a statement shared with The Mirror, MacKenzie said that Woodburn was an âunforgettable woman,â but also explained that she was a âtormented soul.â
"Kim was a tormented soul, but now sheâs finally at peace,â MacKenzie said in her statement to the outlet. âWe clashed often. Behind the fierce persona was deep pain and incredible strength. She survived because she had to. I hope sheâs resting now. She was an unforgettable woman."
Woodburn, known for her no-nonsense approach to cleaning some of Britainâs dirtiest houses, found fame in the 2000s before making a number of reality TV appearances on shows such as Celebrity Big Brother.
MacKenzie and Woodburn served as a double act on the hit Channel 4 show, but it was no secret that their relationship became strained by the end.
So, where is Woodburnâs former co-star now?
Kim Woodburn has died
Where is Aggie McKenzie now?
Born in Scotland, McKenzie was initially working as a journalist for Good Housekeeping before she paired with Woodburn to front the cleaning programme How Clean Is Your House? in 2002
They worked together across six seasons until 2009, and although the show was popular until the end, channel bosses chose to axe it in order to take their programming in new directions.
While Kim went on to appear in numerous reality shows and even work as a panellist on Loose Women, Aggie continued to work on programmes centred around cleaning and organisation, such as Storage Hoarders. She also appeared on The House and had a stint on Celebrity MasterChef.
But in more recent years, it appears that sheâs also taken a step back from the limelight to focus on more holistic work.
In 2017, McKenzie qualified as a yoga teacher and began teaching from her home in North London and hosting classes over Zoom as well as yoga retreats.
The former TV star turned yoga instructor is now 69 years old, and appears to be enjoying a much quieter life than when she worked in television.
âIâm particularly interested in good food and wine. Iâm a member of the Wine Society and a few years ago produced a cookbook with my gorgeous sons Rory and Ewan,â she wrote. "Both are now working as chefs in central London (they rarely cook for me, though â always working!)"
Why did she fall out with Kim Woodburn?
It was no secret that Woodburn and McKenzieâs relationship had grown fraught the longer they worked together. They often clashed on screen, but it also seemed to stem from deeper issues.
In fact, Aggie admitted that the pair âdid not speakâ away from the cameras on the final two seasons, and that their partnership was only for the cameras.
"Kim is not the most straightforward person. I'm somebody who just likes to get on and Kim had a very difficult beginning, a difficult childhood and I think in her home, growing up, there was lots of conflict, many rows and she spent a lot of her childhood in a children's home,â McKenzie told GB News.
"And I think for her, it's kind of normal to have conflict and I think that if things are calm and easy, I think she found that quite difficult. That's not me, I like it easy peasy. There were lots of highs, and a few lows."
She added: âWe were never friends. Far from it. Kim was such a big, damaging part of my life. I feel she almost destroyed me. I know that sounds extreme but she was this massive powerful figure.â
In 2019, Woodburn responded to the claims, maintaining that sheâd never said anything mean against her co-star.
"I have never said anything derogatory about Aggie and I am not going to start now. I am unclear where these false allegations have come from, but I wish her all the luck in the world," the late TV personality told The Mirror.
