Zendaya And Anna Sawai Appear To Accidentally Wear Identical Suits To The Met Gala
Both actors got the memo for Monday’s night's theme, "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style."
At the Met Gala, fashion is meant to spark conversation — and Zendaya and Anna Sawai proved that even on the biggest night in style, great looks sometimes come in duplicate.
The theme for Monday’s fashion extravaganza was ”Superfine: Tailoring Black” Style, and both actors got the memo and arrived in similar white suits.

Zendaya ascended the iconic steps in custom Louis Vuitton, styled by longtime collaborator Law Roach. Sawai, meanwhile, was draped in Dior, with Karla Welch — also behind actor Tracee Ellis Ross’ look — orchestrating her ensemble.

While the silhouettes mirrored each other, it was the fine tailoring and styling choices that set them apart. According to E! News, Sawai kept her hair down and added a silver tie clip for a little razzle dazzle, while Zendaya kept hers tucked beneath a hat and slipped her tie neatly into a vest — a nod to sartorial discipline. Sawai’s suit featured more prominent pocket detailing, and rather than hide her wrists with gloves, she let a Cartier watch take the spotlight.
On Tuesday, Vogue reported that Zendaya’s look was a tribute to “the era of power dressing in the 1970s and 1980s,” a time when suiting was less about uniformity and more about commanding presence.

Welch acknowledged the moment on her Instagram story, calling the “Shōgun” actor’s look as a “homage” to Zendaya. In a follow-up story, she tagged Roach and wrote, “Great minds.”
