The rift between Brooklyn Beckham and his famous parents, David and Victoria, has grown even wider after he and his wife, Nicola Peltz, were spotted socialising with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The Beckham family has reportedly been struggling to cope with the strained relationship with their eldest son, which was further exacerbated by Brooklyn's decision to skip his father's 50th birthday celebrations, leaving David "devastated".
In a move that is likely to add more tension to the situation, Brooklyn and Nicola have now met up with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex at their mansion in Montecito, California. The couple's decision to rub shoulders with Harry and Meghan, who are also embroiled in a high-profile feud with the Royal Family, has sparked comparisons between the two couples.

According to reports, Harry, who is at odds with his father, King Charles, and brother Prince William, was able to offer Brooklyn support and guidance during their meeting. The invitation to Harry and Meghan's mansion came just days after David's birthday celebrations, making the snub even more painful for the Beckhams.

The situation is particularly sour for David and Victoria, who were once close friends of Harry and Meghan. They attended the royal wedding in 2018, and Victoria even helped Meghan adjust to life in the UK by sharing her "little black book" of contacts.
Meanwhile, David participated in Harry's Invictus Games, making the current rift even more poignant.

Brooklyn was aware of his parents' distress and was taken aback by his own encounter with the royal couple.

Nonetheless, it's been suggested that David and Victoria might take comfort in the knowledge that the event wasn't as intimate as initially thought. Sources indicate there were numerous other guests present.
The gathering was actually organised by Paramount and Nickelodeon CEO Brian Robbins and his wife Tracy, who are neighbours to Harry and Meghan.
The Daily Mail reports that the party, which took place at Robbins' $17million villa, was attended by more than 20 people. Harry and Meghan arrived at the celebration via a private jet provided by Paramount Pictures.

Speculation has been rife about how Brooklyn, 26, and Nicola, 30, ended up on the guest list. It is believed to be connected to David's involvement in the football chat show Beckham and Friends Live on Paramount+.
The publication suggests that Brooklyn's invitation came from Robbins simply because he is David's son, and that Robbins was unaware of the well-publicised feud.

"David's production company sold the show to Paramount and it is something that Brian would have been very hands-on with," said an insider.
"Brooklyn lives in Los Angeles, just down the highway, so perhaps Brian thought it would be a nice thing to invite him and Nicola. Nicola is also an actress so mixing in such circles will not do her career any harm."
Another suggested that the invitation was extended well before the family disagreement hit the headlines, but Brooklyn and Nicola were conscious of the optics of socialising with Meghan and Harry.

They described the situation as either a "kick in the teeth or a total screw you", depending on "what side you are on."

It appears that Harry and Meghan were keen to clarify the nature of their interaction with Brooklyn and Nicola, as a source maintained they weren't invited personally by the couple.
"While it was an intimate gathering, there were several additional guests, including VIPs and film executives. Brooklyn and Nicola had a wonderful time and found Harry and Meghan to be particularly kind, caring and generous," someone informed PEOPLE.

A recent report from the Mirror cited a source claiming there's "distance" between Brooklyn and his parents. They remarked: "Brooklyn not turning up was a real blow to David. Brooklyn was close with his dad growing up, but he is married now.
"His wife Nicola is older and confident in her own right, and so there is distance between Brooklyn and his parents."
They added: "It has become a problem and not something they can keep private because of the way the family uses social media. Things have escalated in recent months, and there is a very obvious rift that David and Victoria would love to heal."
