Cheryl 'will always do right by son' as Liam Payne's will bombshell unveiled

Close pals of Liam Payne's ex Cheryl say the singer "will do the right thing" by Bear after it was revealed that their son is set to inherit his father's entire £24m fortune. The One Direction singer, who tragically died after falling from a hotel balcony in Bueno Aires, Argentina last October, was declared intestate as he did not have a will.

This means that as an unmarried parent, his estate is shared between any of his children. The late 31-year-old only had one son, eight-year-old Bear, whom he shared with Cheryl. The Girls Aloud star, 41, was granted the power of administration of the musician's estate after his passing.

It's now understood that Liam's huge fortune, largely made during his One Direction days, will be put into a trust for his eight-year-old son. Friends of devoted mum Cheryl have said that she, just like Liam did, always wants to do what is right for her son. It's understood that Liam, who was born in Wolverhampton, left a total of £28,595,000 which was later reduced to £24,280,000 after his expenses and debts were settled, according to court documents, the Mirror reports.

A source close to the late One Direction star said: "It is a small consolation that Bear will never want for anything, that he will at least benefit from that.

"Liam had some very sensible people around him for a time and he adored Bear so much. He always wanted to do the right thing by him financially."

Other mates told Mail Online that Liam was adamant to ensure his only son would be well looked after in the event that anything happened to him.

It means his girlfriend at the time of his death, US model Kate Cassidy, won't receive any inheritance from Liam's estate.

The estate was published as a limited Ad Colligenda Bona grant.

This is commonly applied for during the sale of a deceased person's property, where the deceased’s executors may have found a buyer for the property shortly after the death.

It's reported that Cheryl was listed in the legal documents alongside Richard Bray, a top music lawyer known to represent big stars including Ed Sheeran.

Kate, who revealed that she and Liam had plans to marry after his tragic death, was not mentioned.

However, this didn't seem to faze the influencer as she shared a snap on Instagram to her 900k followers just hours later.
